Not able to afford it? Dude, you can afford anything if you save. I want a 360 platinum, and that's 100 dollars less than the core ps3. But I won't get a ps3. Why? Because 360 has far more value, better looking games, and emphasis on the thing I buy these consoles for in the first place: games.

PlayStation Home: Making Wetdreams For Obese Shut-Ins Come True!

Because its one of the first PS3 games with a fresh gameplay idea, with nods to the legacy of the 2-D platforming greats, instead of being a typical sequel to PS1/PS2 franchises like the majority of games fans are hyping. Sony lately has been playing catch-up to MS and Nintendo in the realms of innovation, and making mistake after mistake, so that makes this news resonate even harder. Though the NeoGAF Sony contingent seem to be going too far in proclaiming that Home is godly and will single-handedly sink the 360 and Wii  Home just reeks of impracticality to me, I'm sure I'll check it out and play around with it for a few minutes, but after that I'm willing to bet I'll be wishing for the streamlined 360 interface.

PS3 needs to take less time coming up with 'good' ideas and maybe even try thinking up some 'amazing' ideas before I fork over 600 dollars for a 1st gen bluray player with a crap gaming library.

I was speaking to TVC about this last night, and our views were almost identical.

I would've prefered something menu based with a nice subtle GUI. Home looks like something that I'd never use. I'm sure it'll wow a lot of people, but I'm not impressed yet.

Well, apparently you can do the same stuff without home. Home is only optional. Which brings up this point: why is this necessary? You'd think they'd just put their resources into something more practical, but that's my thoughts on it. I'm just waiting to be WOWED by Sony, because I know what they can do, and they've done two times in a row.

Now you can watch SonyTM movies with friends without all the trouble of actually being with friends or seeing the same movie.



Now you can watch movies with the image of a big empty theater surrounding the screen.

It's a neat  concepts, but I think that a lot of features will be dropped by the times it comes out. How the hell do they expect that movie feature to ever work in the real world? People will have to download the movie from their friend,'the host' in real time as they are all watching it from their homes? It just wont work. Companies are going to crack down on that shit in matter of seconds, and people are going to use those things for gross vids and porn.
