the Wii release schedule thus far is VERY typical of Nintendo. An almost unapologetic lack of third part support with a probably fantastic first party title 6 months off.

When will you people ever learn. N64, Gamecube, Wii. It happens everytime. You'd think Nintendo would at least be capable of putting out minigame romps on schedule but even Wii Play had some delays. Have fun with PSP ports fellas $:-\$

Well, it's reasonable to think that Wii would have a lot of support given it's really fucking popular, but thus far, the support is totally insipid. Can't blame me because devs won't support the wii despite it's ridiculous sales.

Maybe because they won't get any of those ridulous sales. Third party titles bombed on the Gamecube in general and I expect the same thing to happen with the Wii.

Why would I buy a Wii? I'd be a sucker hypocrit if I did. I have no faith in it, and fully expect it to lose it's steam in a year or so, while the PS3 and 360 really start souring as HDTV penetration expands.

The only game out right now that I want is Zelda. The only game I really want that's coming out this year is Mario Galaxy.

It would work if developers took the time to build games around the waggle instead of building the waggle around the games. Sadly that's the case, even for Nintendo in the case of Zelda and Paper Mario

This is proven by switching the controls to analog. The game is precise and perfect. With waggle, even though it's the game's main control, it's awful. And you still do stupid shit like draw hearts to do special tricks.

developers aren't ready to change how they think about games because one budget console has waggle. Sales or not technology marches forward, which is why devs are going to follow the PS3 and X360 with its more serious efforts.

You know the really fucked up part about Wii ports? One of the reasons Nintendo chose the Wii design was that third parties would be able to shift their gamecube projects since the architecture was the same. Yet, virtually everything every game was ported from PS2 or PSP. In fact, the only games that were ported from the Gamecube were by Nintendo.

Perhaps that game style just doesn't suit you? I for one love rail shooters to death, so it was nice to have a rail shooter with adventure elements thrown in. Plus, the boss fights are out of this fucking world.

Exactly. I played for an hour the first night I got it, was confused as hell most of the time, tried it again the next day and the controls and everything just sorta clicked.

If PD judges most games after only 10 mins, then I'm guessing that he doesn't play RPGs at all.
