Batman Beyond Rox

Grabbed Seasons 1 and 2 today, getting the final season tomorrow probably. Forgot how good this show turned out. A lot of people bitch about the second season, but its not THAT bad. I need to get the fox batman animated shows too, those sets look ace.

haha, ok that part of the show was never cool.

I spend a good two minutes trying to figure out how to spell it. At least someone got it.

The thing I liked was that the voice actor who played Batman in the other animated series came back and did the voice here too. That's what Batman sounds like to me. Hell one of the few complaints I had about Batman Begins was the whole cookie monster voice Bale used when he had the mask on.

That show was pretty awesome for the most part. I prefered the Batman TAS but it was still great. Damn those were the days...waking up every Saturday knowing your ass would be kicked by awesome episodes of Batman, Superman, X-Men, etc

TAS I think is still the more consistantly good of the two, but some of the Beyond Episodes stomped anything in TAS. Meltdown being one of them. Poor Mr Freeze. Then again both series got great movies 'Mask of the Phantasm' and Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker.

I think thats the one thats in the ghetto 3 pack, thanks for the warning tho.

Himu: I KNOW I like Batman Beyond. I need to TRY some venture brothers before hoping on the bandwagon. It sounds interesting and some of the clips were funny, but who's to say whether or not it will click with me.

Venture Bros. is pretty great, I'd be surprised - nay, disappointed! - if you didn't like it.

I dug Batman Beyond, but Batman: The Animated Series was just leagues ahead of it in storytelling.  And prior to its move to The WB and its animation budget getting the axe, it was just about one of the best shows on TV.  The first couple of seasons were actually drawn on black, instead of white, to give it that dark look.  I also prefer the more realistic, gritty retro tone of the early seasons of Batman: The Animated Series.  Ironically, its Gotham City seems more vibrant and rich than that of the hyper-colorful futuristic one.

Batman Beyond was great. I never saw the full series, but I would always stop to watch whenever I saw an episode airing. The Beyond movies were really good as well!! I especially enjoyed the Joker Returns movie, good stuff!

Best animated shows:

Batman the Animated Series
X-men
Gargoyles
Teen Titans
Invader Zim
Batman Beyond
TMNT
Duck Tales .. Oo-oo! ;)

Nostalgia is blinding you with the X-Men pick.  It's probably the most faithful retelling of any comic book mythos, but it also had some horrible voice acting, horrible dialogue and the worst animation to hit American TVs since Hanna-Barbera.

No way, the voice acting rocked! Wolverine :wub Sure the actual lines and delivery may have been campy at times, but that's not the VA's fault. I really loved the voice acting on that show.

I didn't say all of the voice acting sucked, I said some.  For every minute of Wolverine, we had to deal with Jean and Cyclops:

<Jean> SCOTTTTTTTTTT!!!!

Ok yeah, Jean and Cyclops sucked.

Too bad Ultimate X-men wasn't around during that time. Some Jean and Wolverine action would of been sooo cool.

I hated Cyke :punch

Rogue: Bout as soft as you, fat-head! You gonna shut up or am I gonna have to help you?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sabretooth: What's wrong, Wolverine? No kiss and make up?

Make sure you watch the Justice League series. It has a few great ties to Batman: TAS and Beyond.

Justice League Unlimited is just seasons 3 and 4 of Justice League, and instead of having two half hour episodes for one story they told one story per episode but had kind of an overall storyline throughout each season. It's pretty good actually.
