I want this phone, but I dont wanna switch to sprint :(

Everything about the UpStage is cool. The device itself is small and sleek — 1.73 by 4.07 by 0.37 inches and only 2.57 ounces. The phone side has a 1.4-inch TFT display and the music player has a 2.1-inch TFT display. It operates on the Sprint CDMA and high-speed EVDO networks.

The handset’s Lithium ion battery is good for up to 2.5 hours but that’s not even half the story. The UpStage comes with a good looking faux-leather carrying case with a large, built-in second battery inside. The phone and the case combine for a whopping 6.3 hours of talk time.

The number of features included is somewhat staggering: advanced stereo Bluetooth, a 1.3-MP camera with 5x zoom, SMS voice and text messaging, PictBridge (to print images on a compatible printer), enhanced voice recognition, speech dictation and voice memo capabilities.

Then, there are the built-in entertainment and music features. The MP3 music player is linked to the internal microSD card slot (64MB card provided). You can plug in a pair of stereo earphones (3.5mm jack) via the enclosed adapter. You've got the ability to buy/download music files from the Sprint Music Store, watch Sprint TV and On Demand content (which includes news, sports, weather and entertainment) and stream music with access to Sirius, VH1, MTV and Sprint Internet radio stations.

That part is the problem. Most of the cool stuff is Sprint based.

Yeah, but some of the features, like the TV stuff, are tied to Sprint, and that feature sounds neat.  Fuck, Sprint, for whatever reason I forgot they even existed.

Been on sprint since december 02, I hate it. I used several phones and each one sucked till i got my A-900 in dec 05. At my current house i barely get a signal and it cuts out all the fucking time.

And the upstage sucks i was considering to upgrade since it would only cost 50 bucks. But no its not worth it. It looks cool in concept, but how are you suppost to txt and do the normal things you do on your phone? After playing with one in store and seeing how clumsy the UI and overall "fliping" nature of the phone i say way till they come out with another version.

Sprint will be gettiing the "Banana" by LG in the fall and thats my new phone. Its a slider with a 3mp camera and 1.3mp video cam.

MAF, don't listen to G, I have Sprint and it works fine for me.

I use Sprint's Razr which pretty much has all those features INCLUDING the TV shit.  It's not bad at all.

Im not switching, but I do want the phone.

See the thing with cell phone companies is that NONE of them are good across the whole nation. Everyone THINKS they found 'THE ONE', but really the performance of a provider is almost entirely region specific. So if I were to take provider advice it would HAVE to be someone from the Greater Seattle Area.

Well its got ok service but just check out the service coverage. Where i live its spotty and it changes every few months. Hopefully once we get 3g towers all over things will be better.

TV on sprint does rock, loony toons and adult swim rock.

Maf trust me you dont want that phone, go to a sprint store ask to mess with it. Maybe i'm different but the phone just isnt all that.

Sprint is pretty big here in the mid-atlantic area.

I have my service through them thanks to my partner discount through my employer. They are OK.

Sprint sucks, at least in the tri-state area.  I remember when I used to be talking to mah woman and I'd be in one position and the phone would just cut out.  Total balls.

Verizon Wireless is the best service around here and I've never had a problem. I get reception in the mountains and crazy places where none of my friends do. I also get reception all up and down the east coast, where my friend's T-Mobile phone kept losing service and so did her mother's Sprint phone.

We're also never had a problem with Verizon's customer service. My family has had a plan with them since at the latest, 1999. :)
