See personally I don't read Harry Potter for all the classroom shit and exams and all that bull. I mean I like it fine in the books, it doesn't bother me and it's oftentimes funny and/or interesting (IMO) but the real heart of the story here is Voldemort being a sneaky asshole and Harry putting together the army to fight him off. The movie seems to be focusing on that and I couldn't be happier. It doesn't need to be as long as Goblet of Fire or have 20 minute Occlumency lessons. One short-ish scene with that should be fine. And as usual you have the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom scene which purely exists to a) give us more reason to hate Umbridge and b) to have Harry piss her off and flip out about Voldemort's return.
But the whole thing isn't just action, Yates seems to have at least a bit of Harry's visions and dreams, Harry's hearing at the Ministry, scenes at Grimmauld Place, and so on and so forth. And the flight on the Thestrals looks fucking beautiful and cinematic, just how I pictured it from the book. I think it's going to be a great movie. And the longer final battle we get, the better.
