Master of Puppets is more interesting than either of those albums.  You can't even get your Metallica hierarchy correct.

Do you think I fucking don't know that? I'm saying there's nothing "middle of the road" about Ride the Lightning - it's pure metal. Unless you want to waste my time with more bubububu i hurd fade to black on the radio mommy likeded it omg shit. Where did I say it was better than MoP?

Master of Puppets is one of my favorite albums. I listed it in the previous classic albums thread.

I never said it wasn't metal.  I just said it's not really that special and that there's better thrash out there.

Now you're putting words in my mouth lol. Where did I say Ride the Lightning was better than MoP? Reading is fundamental

I wasn't putting words in your mouth.  I was responding to this:

Quote
I'm saying there's nothing "middle of the road" about Ride the Lightning - it's pure metal

I probably should've highlighted.

I took this comment:

Quote
There's nothing middle of the road about Ride the Lightning or their first album lol.

as saying that you thought those albums were superior to MoP.

And how did you get to that conclusion? Ugh.

Master of Puppets is rather catchy for a metal album. Not all of it mind you, but some of it such as the title song and Sanitarium. Songs like Battery aren't "middle of the road", they're straight up thrash.

Ride the Lightning is pure thrash outside of Fade to Black. Overall it's not middle of the road at all. Neither is their first album. And despite Drinky's madness ...And Justice is not accessible.

The property of exclusion.  You said:

Quote
There's nothing middle of the road about Ride the Lightning or their first album lol.

So it was natural to infer that you thought less of the third album.  Blame your own words.

Um, no it wasn't. That whole discussion was relating to the accessibility and metal-ness of the albums. How you came to this stupid conclusion is beyond me. This is getting into Willco territory now, aka "create a wedge issue to change the subject".

Master of Puppets is my favorite Metallica album. I love their first four albums, and The Black Album is a classic hard rock album by all accounts including my own. After that... :-\

Although there were a couple songs (as in 2-3) on St. Anger that I actually liked. Mainly

Dude, the entirety of your post, which was a response to one of mine, was:

Quote

bubububu i hurd it on the radio and my brother like it so it must be da suck

Does that NOT look like an admission of favoring those first two albums over the rest of their material to anyone else?  Don't blame me for misinterpreting something when it was your lack of command over turning thoughts into sentences that caused the miscommunication.

This is getting pathetic. My post was in responce to this:

Quote
OUR TROLLING IS SO BAD OMG!

He's owned.  He can go to sleep listening to his middle of the road, non-adventurous, overplayed thrash.

I said there's nothing middle of the road about those albums. It should have been clear that I was admitting that MoP was accessible and "middle of the road", at least when compared to the other stuff. This is just a failure on your part to pay attention and be consistant. First you said Metallica is just middle of the road stuff. So are saying Ride the Lightning is middle of the road? Kill em All? lol

I'm going to bed. This thread is dumber than an episode of Dorkter Poo

AC/DC is like hard rock. They're awesome so don't be sad. It's actually a good idea to start with hard rock, and then move to metal. Then once you get there you can start moving to the more...heavy metal stuff. Starting with AC/DC, Zeppelin, and Soundgarden ain't a bad idea. After that move to Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden or something like that. Then Metallica and Megadeth for instance. After that you'll be primed to be rocked by Slayer, Pantera, etc

Wow. The lack of Iron Maiden in this thread really got me frightened and terrified...........

But if I have to be honest, it doesn't surprise me that much. Why? Iron Maiden are pretty much the most underrated musicians on earth. Iron Maiden never gets mentioned anywhere. What an awful pity because their music is so different and of such an high quality. Whenever you see a metal discussion anywhere (be it movies, magazines, interviews, forums etc.) names like  Metallica, AC/DC and Black Sabbath will get dropped. But the true kings of Heavy Metal have been ignored since their dawn. This really bothers me..

Himuro, you said you don't know much about the metal genre yet seem also interested in it. Would you like me to recommend some really good things for you?

I will name a few for starters. But dont bring me down after this. You still got tons of gems to discover.....if you want to...

Listen to these:

Iron Maiden - Fear of the Dark
Iron Maiden - Alexander the Great
Iron Maiden - Hallowed be thy name
Iron Maiden - The Nomad

....then tell me how great your ozzy osbourne is.

Almost none of the metal I listen to falls into the 'heavy metal' category.

Sabbath and Ozzy are about as far as it goes for me with traditional heavy metal. And Ozzy's shit is so lighthearted anymore that I can't consider him metal.

I can't get into Dickinson. A really big part of whether or not I like a band comes down to vocals for me, and while the lyrics and music behind Iron Maiden stuff rocks, I can't get into them because I hate Bruce's voice.

I can't stomach black/death metal either. Growls and screeches usually get me to turn off a song in seconds. Take the In Flames song posted above. The guitars in the opening rocked, but as soon as the vocals started I shut that shit off.

I downloaded it in the HOPE that MAYBE I'd like the sound of this album. I've seen Iron Maiden live, I know I like their music. I was hoping that MAYBE there'd be something about Bruce's voice on this album that didn't turn me off immensely.

I was sadly wrong.

And yes, you're distinguished mentally-challenged. Clearly distinguished mentally-challenged. I made it clear WHY I don't like the band, and I still get 'Because of Bruce's voice amirite'. Son, Forrest Fucking Gump would have understood that without needing to comment on it.

Hey buddy, fuck you.

I DIDN'T know whether or not I'd be deleting the fucking album. That's the goddamn point. The sound of a band can change over time. Is this some new concept to you? I read that the album was good, and I got pumped hoping I'd like it this time. It was unfortunate that I still can't stand his voice, but it's not like I didn't try.

I download a ton of music to see if I'll like how the band sounds. I constantly hold out hope for Iron Maiden, because the music is really good. Bruce's voice ruins the whole fucking thing for me though.

At one point I had their first 4 albums. I know Bruce isn't on the first 2, so there's no need to make mention of that. Of those, I really liked The Trooper and Killers from what I recall. Their sound is awesome, but again, Bruce's voice kills it for me.

I've never heard anything from the Bayley era, so I can't comment on it. I also had (and still might have somewhere on this PC) Dance of Death. I don't recall liking anything on that, but it's been a few years since I've listened to it. And as I mentioned, I didn't like what I heard in their latest album.

Other than that, I can't name any song names. I've got a friend who is a huge Iron Maiden fan, so I'm sure I've heard stuff from a bunch of albums in-between, but I couldn't name anything there. He's a Dickinson fan, so I don't even know if I've heard any of the stuff without Dickinson through my friend. I definitely don't like his voice though.

Oh in that case you should definitely check out the 2 Bayley albums. Almost all people say they are Maiden's worst but they are simply wrong. I've heard the whole Virtual XI album and only 2 songs of X Factor and all of it is great.
Actually, I think Sign of the Cross (on X Factor) is one of the best Maiden songs ever.

Maiden is overrated. Dickinson's voice does suck. Grates on the ears. I hate high pitched vocals in metal almost as much as I hate cookiemonster growling shit. See: Amon Amarth.

My friends went nuts over the latest Amon Amarth album. The lyrics rock, but I can't get into the vocals (and the drums are too much for me as well).

In Flames is the shit. Nightrage (at least the new album Ermac sent me) is dope. Soilwork is dope. I don't like vocals that sound like they are puking. I just like that rush they give, fast guitars and hard hitting SOUNDS. ROCK.
Soilwork is pretty dope.  I can't wait to see their Interview with Ziltoid the Omniscient.  It's supposed to be pretty good.  Here's a pic of Bjorn and Devin Townsend, who is producing their next album, together drinking some beers.

I've been listening to Amon Amarth for years now.  They're not my favorite but their cds are good and their live performance is even better.

I'm so hyped for the new Soilwork.  I think they realized their best sounding (production-wise) album was Natural Born Chaos, which Townsend did.

Hah! Same here. It's the only Soilwork album that I like every song on. Very good stuff.
