So after coming back from energy training I got sent out on a spike to Yosemite to rehabilitate an area that was damaged by the fire. Specifically rebuilding a barb wire fence out on a fucking mountain in the middle of nowhere meant to keep cows from getting near the road. My parents always hyped Yosemite as this beautiful place but only took me when I was very young so I didn't remember much about it. Being there this time, I got to see an unforgettable cross-section of the region.

the first morning we arrived at our work site and it looked like this

that's all smoke, btw. there was a fire burning on the other side of the hill and we were eventually evacuated from the area due to its proximity.
another pic of our work site while I was on break

eventually we moved to another work site where we built a fence in a ravine, something a lot of the crew was upset about doing. I mean what cow in their right mind would be in a place like this?

on the final day when I packed up my tent I also found this cute little surprise underneath it

I wanted to sneak it back to center (at the risk of my job) but it was just too depressing seeing the snake struggle to get out of the jar so I snapped that pic and let it go.
overall a pretty cool way to spend eight days but holy shit steel toe boots are not meant for hiking. my feet are
sore.
