Title: Die Hard on Blu Ray (Also Die Hard 4.0): WTF HAPPENED?!
Post by: bork on November 17, 2007, 04:12:46 AM: So I went to Yamada Denki today and found that I had missed the release of Die Hard 4.0 on Blu-Ray. Then I remembered reading that the DVD release had more shit and was uncensored. I don't know if Japan is the same, but I saw something about two versions on the DVD box and nothing on the Blu-Ray, so I picked up the DVD. Has this been confirmed? I see that this movie isn't out in the States yet.

Also the first three Die Hards were also released. I bought the original, eager to watch it, and am quite disappointed. The BD transfer is FUCKING AWFUL. The picture ghosts a bit on my TV, and the quality is like an average DVD. They didn't even bother throwing in a chapter menu. What the fuck? :maf

I too was hoping for better transfers than the Die Hard:Ultimate Collection boxset. Hopefully, Fox'll fix things after getting many complaints like in the case of The Fifth Element.

Post by: bork on November 17, 2007, 04:30:59 AM: Update: Unless I've missed something, there is no uncensored version, at least for Japan. He still doesn't say "Yipee Kai Yay Mother Fucker" on the DVD. The DVD version does have an extra disc with extra content though.

I have to. I traded DVDs at Moviestop towards it, and I don't think they'll let you switch to something else.

Are you coming back to the states any time soon? I could trade my DVDs w/ you. If possible, I always upgrade to HD. 1080P is to movies as AAA is to games.

No, and plus the Blu-Ray I have is Japanese. It will run on your player, but the text options are all in Japanese. :)

I like Blu-Ray and all, but this transfer is just kinda shitty and completely bare bones.
