Title: I made my most expensive purchase ever this Saturday! :)

I also bought a sexy metal/glass TV stand that was on sale at National Wholesale Liquidators for $100. I'll be putting that together tonight.

Next up, 360/Wii! :D

The main reason that I got a plasma is because I was told that SD shit looks better on it than LCDs.

I'm trying to get an $80 Wii from that amazon thing. I don't think I'll be lucky enough to get chosen though. :(

I've had both and I prefer plasma. My current TV is a Sony 46" 1080P LCD. I hope to replace it with a 58" 1080P plasma before the end of the year.

Not sure. I've got a couple of people that are interested. I'll probably lose quite a bit of money since my TV dropped about $1000 since last year. That is why I'm waiting for a good deal before I switch. I might also keep the LCD as a secondary TV if it would cost me too much to sell it.

Manufacturers of LCD monitors cheat a lot with their specs. That 28" mon is most likely slower than most 24" monitors. Also, the dot pitch of the 28" would probably be too big for anything other than games and movies. I would just stick with a 24" for the best picture.

Excessive brightness could actually be detrimental for a PC mon if you plan to use it a lot for work or web surfing. Is the resolution just 1920x1200? If so, I would probably stick with a 24" or get a larger mon with a higher resolution.

It's hard to accurately judge brightness (this was on a showroom floor) but it was either a very glossy screen, or it was the brightest monitor they had on display.

I'm still considering it. Rest assured that I would keep my 22" monitor around, too. I can always use another big panel. Heck, that thing has a better response time than my 22"er.

Also, glossy screens suck. A glossy screen looks cool at first sight, but if you have any lighting on it at all, it'll look terrible.
