I'm going to say that Joker probably doesn't glorify or evoke sympathy for Joker's actions and just don't understand the concept of villain protagonists doesn't mean endorsement of their behavior.
Well, I think part of the reason might be that the director has spoke out against 'woke culture'. Basically said woke culture is killing comedy. And so now you have 'critics' reading a whole bunch of shit into the movie.
So that article for instance:
"Joker," at its core, is the story of the "forgotten man," the metaphoric displaced and disenfranchised white man whose goodwill has been abused and whose status has been reduced. A man who has been crushed underfoot by the elite, dragged down by equality-demanding feminists and climbed over by upstart nonwhite and immigrant masses.
I've not seen the movie, but based on what I know, none of this is explicit, right? It is probably
imagined by the critic. In other words,
this is what is actually going on, but really it means
this. I mean everyone has an opinion about what a movie
really means. and often you find directors tend to leave it unexplained so that people can find their own interpretation of what it means. It's just that it's a thing now for some critics to interpret a movie through the lens of identity politics. And often come to wild conclusions.
