it was just timing. when broadcast released their first lp with warp, i couldn't get over the fact that they weren't idm. it was the labels first step outside of their comfort zone and i just didn't know how to feel about it at the time. good thing it worked out in the end because warp still got it

It's not really doing anything for me, but I imagine QotSA fans will find a lot to like about it. They don't sound so much like a collaborative supergroup as they do "Josh Homme and his famous sidekicks play Josh Homme songs".

One listen through so far but eh...kinda meh. There's little chemistry here, it's just a few rappers dropping random 16s, with the Black Keys providing a hit or miss tracks and horrible hooks. Maybe I just need to listen to it more. But outside of the RZA track and the Jim Jones song made an impression. Plus there's some dude I've never heard of on the album who sounds almost exactly like Jay-Z

I like the Fall Be Kind EP a lot, but the flute in Graze seriously kills the song for me. Like, what the fuck is that doing there. I Think I Can and What Would I Want? Sky are both excellent though, and the rest is pretty solid.

edit: Not sure how I'd rank it among their other releases, I need a few more listens for it to digest
