These guys are my new shit. Stones, Bowie, ELO, and T-Rex all in one. They're fucking great.

Listening to this a bit more, this list should be way, way longer. The Kinks penetrate every song on this album in some manner or another, Syd Barrett, Reed and Dylan (the organ on No Destruction, coupled with the vocal inflection in the verse which I swear is lifted directly from something on the Basement Tapes), the Beatles (the chorus of San Francisco is lifted from "Only a Northern Song"), the Zombies, and a bit of Gun Club/Cramps on the title track.

There's absolutely nothing original about the sound of this record. They've deftly applied so many influences simultaneously that it's easy to forgive, but they're essentially Jet with a dumber band name.

Yep, one of my favorite producers as well, and that remix is the bomb, although you can say that about almost anything he touches. Really interested how his album will turn out on which he has worked for seemingly the last 3 years. Apparently it's gonna be less dance oriented.

i have no idea what you wanted but this is a good ghostface song. you have classic narrative via nonsense, that dusty raspy 70s library sound down perfectly, a great set up for a concept album and as a bonus you get live instrumentation rather than loops.

Atoms for Peace's long awaited debut has leaked,

so far it's shockingly good. i haven't heard any of the ep's they've released in the past year or two but from the first few tracks, it sounds like a more refined sound Thom Yorke explored in The Eraser, which isn't surprising given the nature of how the project came about.

Yup it's damn good. Great production and while Ghost sounds subdued, lyrically he came correct. I'm sure the rest of the album will have some hyper stuff

I haven't heard Ghost sound that focused in awhile, and I'm glad it's not a coke rap retread; he does that well but I miss more acrobatically abstract Ghost of yore.

i realized i didn't own SC or Cuban Linx on vinyl so I went and grabbed those on Friday along w/ the Czarface album (found a place which was selling it early).

found a record store neither i nor my girlfriend had ever heard of which was focused on used hip hop jazz and funk for decent prices. they had a test pressing of "Live at the BBQ" for $30. I didn't buy it, but I should have.
