Actually my dad had just come back from London before I bought the CD and he told me what pissing meant over there, so there was no confusion with that line.

There was confusion, however, with all the alcohol terminology used. I was all "wtf is a lager"

The new Flaming Lips is definitely contender for album of the year. It has 18 tracks, but it all flows together so well, it feels like the album is only 30 minutes long. It's so diverse too. It's rare I think an album with so many tracks is worth listening to more than a few times, but this is all I've listened to since I dled it. Definitely supporting this when it comes in stores.

I dunno. I don't think I've heard anything this year that's worthy of the title, but I think Embryonic is definitely the best contender.

There's definitely some good albums though...I'm pretty big on:

Muse - The Resistance
Raekwon - Cuban Linx 2
Young Galaxy - Invisible Republic
Metric - Fantasies
Pearl Jam - Backspacers

Haven't heard Neko Case. I still don't understand the hate for the new Muse. I've been listening to it over the past few weeks and I'm starting to feel it's the best Muse album since Origin of Symmetry.

Yeah, mine is probably the The Flaming Lips. It came out of nowhere, because I wasn't expecting anything great after At War with the Mystics.

It's tough to say, though. I still haven't even made my way through all of the big 09 releases

That's probably more Pitchfork-alligned than anything BrandNew would list, but idc.
