It's very noisy and the sound is pretty consistent throughout, but there's a lot of little textural things at work. If you can get through the whole thing, there might be a point where it just "clicks" for you. Headphones help.

Dude, how old is it? I listen to a lot of Chronix Aggression on shoutcast and this band came on with the song Inside. So I dl'd it and listened to the whole thing. But this song I played over and over a few times.

While I don't think Loaded is nearly as good as Velvet Underground and Nico, it's still pretty great. I really have much to say about it aside from the fact it has gotten lots of rotation on my zune this past week alongside VU and N.

Those other two Lou Reed-fronted VU albums are definitely worth getting into as well.

Have any of you listened to Zaireeka properly? If so, how the hell did you do it and is it worth the effort or would I be just as well off downloading a "compiled" version? I've always considered it to be a sort of novelty recording and ignored it, but the Fearless Freaks documentary got me interested in checking it out.

Probably not so much any more. I was thinking I could just get four cheap boomboxes from a pawn shop and put them in the corners of a room. The sound quality would suffer, but that's the same sort of equpiment they used when they did a similar thing in the documentary.

If you haven't seen it, they basically have a large group of people with boomboxes, each with their own unique recording, and they would all play their tapes simultaneously and adjust the volume with Wayne and Steven Drozd conducting.

Some friends and I did the whole Zaireeka thing back in high school when the album first came out. Each disc on a stereo in a separate corner of his basement. It was really cool.

Also, I actually went to a Zaireeka show in Portland, OR. They handed out tape players and had us hold them up and play while the band played on stage.

It was one of the greatest "experiences" I've ever been a part of.

It was so incredibly awesome. The Seattle show was 21+ and we were just 16 at the time, so we all packed into my best friend's Buick land yacht and made the 2 hour trek down to Portland. That was a great night.

You can get the compiled version just to hear the songs...they're pretty decent.

Some friends and I listened to it with 4 cd players a long ass time ago. We used 2 boomboxes, some shitty kitchen radio cd player, and a 2 speaker system-in-a-box. It's fucking great...just sounded so full. Even better than those 5.1 audio dvds that were around a few years ago. We were drinking white russians and taking hydrocodone. I'm pretty sure I almost died

I still have the discs somewhere...now I want to listen to it again, without the life threatening mixture of pills and alcohol.

and Himu inspired me to bust out some Velvet Underground, which I haven't done in forever. VU + Nico is awesome...

If you want a proper shot of 70's hard cock rock, get The Who's Who's Next or Quadrophenia or The Rolling Stone's Sticky Fingers, Exile on Main St. or Some Girls, or maybe even something from the New York Dolls. Such a great place for concerts. Nashville is pretty great too but a lot of bands I like usually opt for Memphis instead, which is still like a 4 hour drive.

This popped into my ipod rotation and was awesome as always. Probably one of my top5 videogame songs ever. The buildup is nice and when it goes into full gear it's worthy of a Susumu Hirasawa song which is saying a lot.

Sakimoto by himself is a good musician, Sakimoto + Mitsuda = UNSTOPPABLE COMBO. I wish they worked together again.
