UFC PPVs will be exlusively provided through ESPN+ going forward. Not included with ESPN+, but only able to be purchased through ESPN+.

So they want you to pay for an OTT monthly subscription streaming app to be allowed to pay $65 for their PPVs.

Oh, you also need to have a Fight Pass subscription to watch most of the other shows.

A Russian junior welterweight died from injuries he suffered during a televised fight (ESPN).

Junior welterweight Maxim Dadashev died Tuesday morning as a result of brain injuries suffered during an 11th-round knockout loss to Subriel Matias on Friday night at the MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland. Dadashev was 28.

I never heard of the guy, but reading his story made me sad. He started boxing when he was 10 and racked up 300 amateur fights (going 280-20). He finished top 3 in the Russian national tournament for three years in a row. He moved to the US shortly after and began training with Top Rank. He went 13-0 with 11 KO's as a pro and was in-line to get a title match if he won this last match.

But he was pretty thoroughly beaten by Matias on Friday, was immediately hospitalized after the match and died soon after. To be so close to your dreams and then to fall short and die in the process. Ouch.
