Another good episode. I think I like Nosedive mostly for BDH's performance, and also I see it becoming more and more true as time passes.

Your fucking credit score is gonna integrate your tweet activity soon, watch my words.

I think Nosedive stood out because of its aesthetic quality. The story goes where you'd expect but it was stylized in a way a lot of the other episodes aren't. Dallas-Howard is good in it too.

Be Right Back is the best episode? I like Fifteen Million Merits, Nosedive and San Junipero more.

All top tier but BRB hit me harder.

Man the Michael Scott exit episode is fucking heart wrenching. Say what you will about the show but this episode shows all this love for all these characters with real emotion that's coming from a personal space from these actors.

REALLY enjoying Mindhunter. The writing is fantastic. My wife, who is into psychology, is also loving the hell out of watching nascent profiling efforts be created.

I don't like the chemistry between Holden and his hippie academic GF; from the first scene, their dialog was performed like they were pretending they didn't know each other, but it turns out they really /are/ just getting to know each other. It's odd and stilted.

Tench is my spirit animal. He's like a combination of my Dad's temperament and my own personal inclinations on justice.

I just finished up Mindhunter last night. I fucking loved it. I agree about that weird conversation in the first episode and their chemistry as a whole, but at least that relationship ends up how you would expect. And yeah, Tench is fantastic. His interaction with Holden in the second ep is what really got me into the show. I can't wait for the second season.

Currently in the middle of Lady Dynamite s2, it's uneven, the Future parts especially won't be for everyone and as such break up the pacing. The good parts are still very funny though. The weirdness is genuine and that makes the whole thing endearing. The actress playing Maria's mother is really perfect.

It was fucking bad, tbh. Terrible writing and editing, made it feel like some random CBS action drama and nothing at all like X-Files. All the random zooms and shit  :trash

Probably a top 5 or 6 worst ep in the entire series. Also, what the fuck happened to David Duchovny in the last year? He looked good in the last season and Twin Peaks, now he looks and SOUNDS like shit.

Finished S2 of 12 Monkeys the other day, tempted to purchase S3 since it won't be dropping on Netflix soon. I'm astounded barely anyone's talking about it, Syfy marketing what is you doing?

But: knowing artstyle, cast, and crew are back for Young Justice: Outsiders :rejoice

I hope there's a way to access/purchase the series other than subscribing to whatever streaming platform abomination DC is pushing for it.

This show feels like it's just a concept for a trek show that didn't get used because studios at the time were like yeah we ain't making sci-fi show like this anymore.

It handles the federation vs the anti federation crew Lost in Space/TNG that Voyager was going for, i'm not finished with it to give it one of my emote ratings yet lol.

Binging my way through the Expanse. I'm reached the 2nd season now. Had never seen it before but always heard good things. Yep its very good. The best sci-fi TV show I've seen in a long time.

I like how its slow. I like how it doesn't feel like its aimed at kids. I like the tone. I like the acting and the characters. Solid all around.

Decided to finish Battle Star Galatica. I know it's old but I only ever got to season 2. I'm really impressed by the quality so far (don't spoil it for me) and that I haven't heard of a successor. It either finishes badly, or there's something I'm not aware of. I have to admit, I don't watch much TV, so both are equally likely.

There was a successor show called Caprica but it was a completely different breed of a show from BSG and it was a prequel. It never caught on in the same way and only lasted a season.

Without spoiling BSG, I'll just say there is wide variance in opinions on the last two seasons but its certainly still worth watching.

I'm gonna catch flack for this, but I think that trailer looks like a really cheap movie. I guess it's OK by TV standards?

For some reason the "stealth mode" hype and the teaser were much more enticing. Now that I'm seeing the acting and hearing the dialog... doesn't really live up to the standards set for it I think.

Hopefully it's good.

Not just you. A lot of netflix shows have a really cheap production quality to them. The ones that shoot on location beat this for the most part but the Marvel Netflix shows in particular look cheap to me. It's like if you're not some respected auteur who has their own crew you just get cheap 00s tv lighting and canadian set dressing.

I love trash though so I'm sure it'll be alright. Hope it's violent.

omg forgot about the final season while waiting for it, cheers

still one of my favorite moments in recent sitcoms was early on in Episodes when LeBlanc is playing all sides right off the bat* and getting their show changed into one about a hockey coach, and at hearing the suggestion, Merc gets wide-eyed and yells out "WE CAN CALL IT PUCKS!" like he's just invented geometry

i love that the show was never afraid to be a dramedy and play stuff totally straight with long setups that may take a while to play out:

also Merc's replacement was amazing :lawd

also Carol is always perfect even here

And finished up the second season.

Good season. Good show. This season had a darker tone to it but still such good fun trashy moments.

It's so weird that one of the more darker and cynical pieces of television work airs on TBS.

Probably the most under-rated show on television going. Nobody I know in real life has ever heard of this show. And I mean NOBODY.

Just fired up rewatch of True Detective S1 and the initial scene with Cohle firing up his cig and the detectives react to it like some bygone habit and yet one slides a mug as an ash tray Cohles way in acceptance. Five minutes in and it played to a sense of coolness and subtlety S2 couldn't even achieve in its entire arch.

I've also been keeping an eye on Fukunagas vision. Its concise when it needs to be, you are telling an hours long story, but spurts of beauty, of specific detail, just like the pizza mans writing. Its a cautionary tale, please don't fuck with the man that can physically envision the story you're telling. This is a medium that requires a team effort.

Young Justice s2 is the best non-comic DC anything outside of Batman Begins and Batman TAS.

Watched the first three episodes of s1, and am really enjoying its tone. Also, it appears to be serial, which appeals to the nerd in me. I really, really like the character designs, visually. Aqualad is particularly neat cool. Not sure which version of Batman they're using, but his getup is perfect. Miss Martian copping Robin's look as a genderswitch made me feel funny in my bathing suit area.

I finished The Punisher this morning. It was pretty similar to al lthe other Marvel Netflix shows in the sense that it was too long and had what felt like a lot of padding, but in an inverse on all the other shows, it was the first half that was slow and a waste instead of dying off in the back half. Really, all of the various side plots and arcs could have been done in 2 eps max, but that's an issue for all the Marvel Netflix shows: 8 episodes of story stretched out to 13, with the show runners thinking they have 22 and realizing somewhere around the middle that they only have 13 and have to cram 3-4 eps into 1 somewhere around the middle.

Saw people complaining the show was too violent ( :neogaf it's the fucking PUNISHER) and didn't really think any of it was too intense even for Netflix. Then the last 2 eps had me  :jeanluc
