Not sure why I bothered watching all of Doctor Foster.

First episode was way too relatable, to the point where I felt really uncomfortable watching. But I had to keep watching to see what happened. The plot twisted, the protagonist was an annoying bitch, and I don't recommend this show at all. What a mess. :lol

The first half S2 being described as 'boring' made me think they must have pushed the boundaries of boring if its worse than S1

Watching the last ep of Waco. What kind of disease due all these Culkin children have that makes their adult faces look so weird? They all have the Innsmouth look.

Opiate addiction, probably

Momo, if you like Billy on the Street check out Difficult People on Hulu. It's him and Julie Klausner and it encapsulates his bitchy-theater-kid-all-grow'd-up tone perfectly

Yeah, I was distracted by all the nudity and violence, but its last couple episodes do not give me the thrill that the first 6-8 eps did.

It was pretty good nudity and violence though.

Travel protip: Netflix allows download of some content to your mobile devices. Your netflix account is usable worldwide, but content varies depending on where you are physically located.

Additionally, what can be downloaded varies from region to region.

Depending on where you go in the world, that content may not be viewable in that region.

  • Download whole seasons before departure
  • If the content is not viewable in your current traveling location, turn on Airplane Mode, preventing Netflix app from checking your physical location
  • Find new shows you didn't have in your home location; download what you can!

Not sure about that last tip. I downloaded part of The Expanse s2 before leaving, but couldn't watch it or download more in the USA. I wanted to watch The Magicians, and it's on on Japan's Netflix listings, so I thought that I'd downloaded 10 eps in the USA, but none of them are on my iPad now. Crap.

Watched a mess of Documentary Now and Portlandia while I was in California. Super good.

The X-Files has turned out so good this season that I now believe the unspeakable dogshit that was the season opener was intentionally garbage so as to make the network/fans never ask for another mythology episode again.

Yeah, classic tier MOTW eps one after another. It's been about as good as The X-Files could possibly be in 2018. You know, if you ignore maybe the single worst ep of the entire series that started the season.

I randomly threw on the preview eps before it aired and was pleasantly surprised. It's pretty solid, though it needs more Lance Reddick. I think I find the show more amusing than laugh-out-loud funny, but I really enjoy the surreal, hypercynical atmosphere/world the show inhabits.

I think the casting is perfect, including  Lance's deadpan tyranny, and they've got the respective screentimes right. I also think the two main characters are excellent foils. Really solid writing.

I liked that everyone had conflicting motives which all felt true to their characters.

I think so. Its a Victorian crime drama first with the supernatural stuff at the fringe. It feels very planted in reality due to this.

Agreed about the two leads, they compliment each other really well, as do the pair of bosses, who are just perfectly nauseating. Speaking of the writing, after watching the preview eps I found out it was written partly by Jake Fogelnest, who also worked on the similarly dark and also excellent Difficult People, which I never miss a chance to shill
