For you? It might become a foundational piece of media for the next evolution of your character.

You guys are tripping on Future Man Season 2. Just finished it. It had a different tempo and all the best character development was in the first season but the show got smarter and there were puns... so many puns.

Tbh I don't even remember shit about season 2 other than it was incredibly stupid and convoluted and season 3 seems to be following the same mystery box bullshit but like the current day shit in AssCreed games as the main setting instead of the inside the animus.

I remember bits of s2 but most of it from the last episode, and that's really all you need going into season 3 which is a partial reboot almost.

Gilmore Girls A Year In The Life probably shouldn't have happened. I guess when it came out, the rest of the show wasn't as clear in my head but man....this just isn't the same. Everyone is old and fat, everyone's voice is deeper, the lighting and cinematography is wrong because it's being shot widescreen HD, the pacing is off because they're 90 minute episodes, the dialogue doesn't have the right pace, there's a big chunk of every ep that borders on a musical (and actually IS a musical in one of them) or otherwise highly stylized in a way that never would have happened on the original run, and basically nothing has changed for any of the characters over the 8 years, everyone is in the exact same position and doing the exact same shit.

Probably the worst part here is Rory's arc in this is one she had gone through twice in the show proper, but now she's 32 and it's weird and kind of codifies her as an official washout and the show actually wants you to concur with that designation based on comments from various people and the dunking on the other people her age back at home hanging out together. Despite being valedictorian at both her prestige prep school and YALE.

Actually, everyone is going through the same arcs: Luke and Lorelai got back together after not getting married, stayed together, almost broke up again, decided last minute to get eloped instead. Rory is floating around lost, not talking to her mom, crashing, fucking her ex who is engaged/married, Jess randomly pops up to give her a pep talk to get her back on track, any progress with Lorelai and Emily is back to zero, then they make another money for dinners deal....actually the whole thing seems to be Amy Sherman-Palladino rerunning and "fixing" the storylines of the last 2 seasons, but instead it just feels off and kind of sad that all these characters are trapped in the same patterns and loops after so many years away from them.

On top of this, Lauren Graham seems almost resentful throughout most of it, as I I recall she had been trying to distance herself from GG for a few years before the revival and didn't seem like she was enjoying returning to the role. The whole thing actually ended up bumming me out instead of being a last nostalgic visit to this lovely world. But now that I think of it, I don't think any revival has been much different.

S4e6 of Rick and Morty, I guess the “mid season premiere,” was pretty fantastic. The religious solution caused an epic LOL.

No new Riverdale episodes is bumming me out.

I also liked Rick & Morty ep 6, but ep7 was sort of bland.
Still a fun show overall.
-
I finished Ozark, second half of the season definitely picked up the pace, and Ben was a character with an interesting arc (and tough-to-watch couple of scenes).
However i'm getting tired for the hillbilly characters, they're transitioning from "a bit dumb" to "conveniently stupid", and they are really failing to show how Mama Snell still manages to have all this supposed clout.
Overall, it does feel like they're spinning wheels somewhat, but not to the point when i'm tuning out yet, i think Marty and (especially) Wendy, are still compelling characters worth exploring.
Finally, i tolerated the kids before, but i'm also starting to wish a stray shot gets Jonah in the back of the head.

I did, months ago.
Julia Roberts is actually quite good in it, and of course it's really visually striking.
The script alternates from pretty good to ok, down to sloppy.
And you have Shea Whigham playing his typecast nervous government dork.

To be honest i wasn't particularly engaged throughout, and i'm not sure i'll return for a second season, but if the subject matter gets to you, it's not bad, plus the episodes are about 20 minutes, so it doesn't drag.

Also i couldn't stand more than 1 season of Mr.Robot, so maybe his writing style just isn't for me.

Started watching Casa de Papel.

I started season 4 a couple of weeks back.
Season 1 & 2 (which in Spain are 1 season?) are pretty fun, and decent camp.
3, and now 4, pump the stupidity to levels beyond reason, and turn into straight up "so bad it's good" shit with, unfortunately, soap opera elements of forced romantic drama.

But yeah, it's entertaining garbage and almost all of the characters turn into insufferable cunts, both good and bad guys.

Finished Legion S3, man that show was a mess after S1. Some good stuff in there but just tonally all over the place and so much style filler. Navid Negahban, Bill Irwin were fantastic throughout. Dan Stevens was good but also annoying in the later seasons. It's not a terrible show but maybe would've worked better as just a one season thing.

And those are probably the weakest eps as the cast/show was finding its groove. Very consistent after that.

This show is sort of bullshit, but having just watched season 4 of Money Heist, i've kind of reframed my whole spectrum of "absolutely demented writing".
Whoever is writing this nonsense must have stopped giving a shit 2 seasons ago.

I also noticed how they went from (essentially) glorifying a rapist and not being shy about their gratuitous ass shots, in season 1, to shoehorning some very clumsy feminist/progressive thematics (or i should say "throaway lines") as a mea culpa in this one.  :lol

So 3eps in now and my only annoyance is ep1 had amaaazing music straight out of Xenogears/Saga/Blade with gregorian chants mixed with technology, sci-fi and religion. 3 composers were listed.

Ep2/3 soundtrack doesn't have any of that and only 2 composers listed, so I guess maybe they only got that gregorian hymns guy for the pilot which sucks because it gave it an incredible feel.

Otherwise still awesome. And pretty sure Garland is a xeno~ fan. He's definitely a gamer.

They just started airing the Harley Quinn cartoon here, and it is weird as fuck.

Remember when Hanna Barbera realised it had a ton of IPs that people kinda sorta recognised but did not give a single fuck about, so they went all weird and self referential and you got stuff like space ghost coast to coast and harvey birdman attorney at law, and eventually landing at full on self parody with the Venture Bros?

It's like that. Except its the actual DC universe and actual DC characters.
An actual plot point is Dr Psycho gets #cancelled because he calls Wonder Woman a cunt in the middle of a fight.

2 more eps left in Devs. Show is so good. One of the more interesting sci-fi concept shows in a while. Really good cast too. Didn't recognize that the main girl is the scientist from Maniac and was in Ex Machina. Also the genius programmer boy is played by the girl from Pacific Rim 2 and Bad Times at the El Royale? Crazy.

Rewatching Ash v. Evil Dead from s1 since s3 came to Netflix Japan.

Things I missed the first time:
Lucy Lawless has a nude scene in it after she shows up too late at Kelly’s parents’ home.
When they cut the cover off of the Necronomicon ex Mortis, they literally “de-faced” the book.
