I still contend that show may be Zooey taking the absolute piss out of her own notoriety.

Zooey Deschanel is a TERRIBLE actress.

Yeah, she can sing well, but not so great with the acting. She should try singing her lines.

Actors need to be able to act AND have charm. Zooey just has the latter.

I thought she was good in All The Real Girls, Elf and Failure to Launch. She was the best part about Big Trouble as well. I can't recall her being bad in anything, but just that she became an actress that keeps playing the same character. There is a difference between Zooey in say Winter's Passing or All The Real Girls to the one that is in Big Trouble, Failure To Launch and basically crests with 500 Days of Summer as the adorkable goddess, but the quirky Zooey is the sex appeal one so it gets rewritten over and over.

I hate her so much in 500 Days of Summer. Well I hate that movie.  I've never seen anything where Zooey was even decent.  I've only tolerated her because she's hot.  But I would never watch a show around her.

Go watch All the Real Girls, it's fantastic.

Too bad David Gordon Green will never make anyting like it ever again.

How is Season 3?
The worst in comparison to the other seasons, but still better than most shows. It ended strong though, imo.

Season 4 seemed like it would be the best season, but the season finale plot twist ruined all that. Before watching it I was wondering how could they possibly continue this show for 3 more seasons. That question got answered in the first 5 minutes, smh. Still an okay episode which setup the next season well, but all that build up and no real climax.

It's an utterly amazing show. I'm curious to get people's impressions of S2 though. The season is more melodramatic and "soap opera-ish" than the first, but it didn't bother me overall because I had fallen so in love/awe with the characters/setting. There are a couple moments where I literally jumped out my seat cheering, and I cried a bit (but not a lot!)  :-[

I think they fired the show runner and replaced them with the guy from Eureka... maybe? I don't know. The Christmas episode felt very Eureka-like.

Just saw the last episode of Mad Men Season 4. I didn't like the fourth season that much when I started watching it but then it got better and better. The final was disappointing however. Megan seems like the type of women Draper gets by the dozend and he stills falls for such a golddigger? I mean, I get that he has this trauma with his childhood and therefore desperatly wants to have some kind of ideal world family, but it just doesn't feel believable that he falls for Megan just because she doesn't freak out over a spilled milkshake.

Doesn't help that I really liked Faye and them as a couple. Ah well, bring on season 5.

Just finished. Definitely absolutely amazing. Brooker and Co. really nailed all sides of the bystanders in this. It made me think of the people on message boards who actually grades a high profile torture video based on severity and gore against the past ones they've watched. There's a loss of humanity there.

The various twitter/youtube comments you got brief glimpses of were all so horrible but so believable. The 'viewing montage' was amazingly well-done too. Every face was worth looking at, and seemed an authentic reaction. I realize this is a bit gushy but I think it's the smartest, most provocative, most timely piece of TV drama I've ever seen.

Watch it over again.

There's a scene earlier in the series where Sally or Bobby spills milk or a milkshake or something and Betty fucking freaks. It tells how she responds to crisis and especially children.

Megan not only was totally cool with the milkshake, she was helpful throughout the entire season. The way she helped him out when he was drunk, how she helped Sally when she skipped school and brought her to Don's apartment and kept her company? And I see no proof that she's a gold digger.

Faye, however, isn't good with children.

This is important to Don because his children are one of the few things he cherishes, and they need a mother. A good one. Don is doing it not only for himself (stability) but also his children, notably Sally.

I'm grabbing it now. I thought I was being clever, using Screen Sharing to VNC into my iMac, then find the torrent, open it there, and then log out. Unfortunately, I used command-Q to quit Screen Sharing, which instead quit Safari on my iMac, closing about 50 open and as-yet unread browser windows.  :lol

Season 2 is so far awesome too. Only complaint is that I much preferred Jane Lynch to Megan Mullally. Guess she was too busy stackin' it to the ceiling with Glee.

Regarding Black Mirror ep1, the only thing I disagree with

spoiler (click to show/hide)
I don't believe that the girl would not have been found in the middle of central London in the afternoon, a half hour before the indecent act was performed. Everyone would not be glued to Tv sets just to watch a man pork a pig, regardless of who he is. People would have found her, called the police and prevented the act from taking place.
