How is Archer Season 3 so far? I don't know how I missed it, I loved Season 2 and the little mini-series they did a few months ago.

Archer season 3 is mixed.

Show from went from laugh out loud every episode to a chuckle here and there, though the last few eps have been good.

Mr Bates isn't ugly though, and he's a nice man. I can accept him banging a 30 year old far better than I can Nukie in Boardwalk Empire for instance

Watched the first episode of Luck and really dug it. They nicely set the initial weave for the whole horse racing environment. Hoffman as Ace has more gravitas than Buscemi as Nucky.

The interactions between Hoffman and Farina are gold. And watching how "Ace" treats the rest of the world in contrast has also been engaging.

The Dysfunctional Four are sometimes good and entertaining, but mostly it's like watching a train wreck in slo-mo. My sister was asking, "Where did they get all that money? Oh, right, they won the Pick-Six..." Then I pointed out that they had made a big deal about wondering how to collect the money, how to keep it low key and off the tax-man's radar, etc. So my assumption is that a few of them told loan sharks that they won, and borrowed against that collateral, which is where their current cash came from. And I'm guessing that claiming their winnings and/or dealing with the loans is going to be another focus later on in the show.

I finished season one of American Horror Story.  Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.  That was some really ridiculous, stupid, amazing television.  By the end of the season it's so wtf that you have to love it.  I'd imagine the next season is going to be a whole new scenario right?  I hope so.  Maybe a slight tie in with the first season.  Constance would be awesome and I'm pretty sure the kid will be there.  But gotdamn that was a really fun show.

Thank God.  I loved how fun and yet effective it was.  It didn't have to take itself too seriously to just go crazy with the story but it never veered into LOL territory.  It was a great atmosphere.  My wife hates all kinds of horror and usually refuses to watch it but she was hooked on it.

Oh my god, so I've caught up with The Simspsons this season and I really really like it. I mean, it's not as good as the classic eps, but it's better than most animated programs on tv. I find myself laughing out loud multiple times an episode.

Still watching Man From UNCLE when I have time.  Series is really good.  Every week this guy basically shows up and drags normal people into international cat and mouse games and essentially throws them into situations where they should die.  Charming characters, lots of 'oh hey' moments when you recognize character actors from the era (also pre Trek Shatner and Nimoy in the same episode, another episode with a 12 year old Kurt Russell) and surreal situations.  Good stuff.

Also watching Supernatural.  Second season is better than the first.  I'm glad that there seems to be a direction in mind for the series now.  Of course they're on Season 7 so lord knows how horrible things could get.

Last season was fairly decent too.  I started watching again about 3 years ago and it's steadily improved as they've shrugged off a lot of the random Family Guyish nonsense that used to fill the other episodes.  Still a total shell of its former self though.  But hey, at least it's not puke inducing bad anymore.  www.iwatchsimpsons.com   I wanted to kill myself in the 14th season  ugh ugh

It's really too bad FX fucked up the marketing and didn't take a chance on a second season of Terriers. Justified has become just so incredible with its second and third seasons.

Not to mention how The League has grown the same way.

Season 2 was pretty good. Mags was a great character, and so misguided, somehow believable. Her sons still seemed like caricatures though, so I am not without complaints. Then again, I guess those types of people exist out there.

yeah, Schmidt is the best part of New Girl.  The show involves him much more than the other two.  They've also added more jokes about the main girl's flowery persona.  And Lizzy Caplan as a lawyer with anger issues  :heart

Does she have sex with the black guy?

funny thing is that the show teases her getting it on with the two white guys, but not the black guy.

coincidentally, i'm also working my way through breaking bad

s1 and 2 are a bit more rooted in reality, and focus on subtler character studies, while from the very end of season 2 onward it begins to rely more and more on shock moments and "tv coincidences"

guess it depends on which style you're more partial to, i tend to lean towards the quieter stuff

I don't want to get into "realism" discussions on Breaking Bad though. To be fair, they would have been caught long ago considering how ridiculously sloppy they ran their business. If it was a sidestory in The Wire they would have been caught in like three episodes.

It's especially baffling in later seasons where Walt is still oblivious to how sloppy things are, despite being married to an accountant
