Agreed. Prefer s1 over the other seasons because it's grounded in reality, not this small world coincidental bullshit.

Yeah, a guy Walt met in a bar happens to be the dad of the girl he kills that very same night. Right. And that very same guy ends up crashing a plane and killing himself. Same issue with Gus' henchmen that Walt runs over. Right. The kid who killed Skinny Pete is the brother of the girl Jesse is seeing. Oh no, Jesse better kill those guys.

How fucking small is ABQ? It seems like everyone is running into people that's connected to someone they know. Shit writing.

Works for a drama, but takes the drama down a peg because it's pandering to network tv sensibilities where they make up plotlines for shock value and trying to tie every single fucking character - even small ones - together in to the story.

Now that I think about it, you're right in that respect. Things really get ridiculous later. They make up for it with dark humor, as if they're aware of some of the leaps in believability.

In the previous episode Lori loses her mind after Rick is gone 5 minutes, then drives off ALONE to find him. Later she tells him Shane probably will try to kill him.

Next ep...Rick and Shane go out alone and Lori seems completely calm as if nothing happened? lol

She was completely right, though. A person in a fucked up, apocalyptic world, should be given the option of suicide. Also, Lori was spouting '50s housewife misogynistic platitudes and it was all total bullshit. Going through The West Wing for the first time and I was struck by one episode and one of the threads regarding how Liberals deal with Conservatives (Season 3 Episode 6 'Gone Quiet'). Bruno gets resistance for suggesting using "soft money" for the Bartlet campaign and has on a monologue depicting a liberal who is tired of being weak willed and cowardly regarding actually fighting back for what he (they) believe in. Interesting parallels to what exactly is happening with Obama throughout his presidency (constant resistance and trying to appease) and the re-election (being against Super PAC at first and then deciding to organize a Super PAC for his re-election).

Starting season 2 of Archer. This show is SO GOOD. Easily the tightest comedic writing since Arrested Development. Hell, it might even rival it. Fucking great.
