changing anything from factory on a ccw piece is I'll advised, if you ever did have to use it that can and will be used against you if you go to court. I'd recommend reading some Massad Ayoob.

anyways s&w's new shield is something I'm thinking about too. I hear it has a glock tier trigger. IMO the nano is overpriced. if you don't care about an external safety take a look at the keltec pf9, which can be had for under 300, also tale a look at rugers sr9c, which also has an awesome trigger, an external safety and hold 10 rounds flush and 17 extended which you said you like.

The Keltec just doesn't fit my hand well. It's not comfortable for me at all. The Nano is a bit overpriced. It's on the low side of my list. But I hear it's a pretty damn good shooter. I haven't run into one in the wild here though so I haven't gotten a chance to check it out myself.

I don't mind changing anything on my CCW. None of the mods I'm making make me uncomfortable to take out as my CCW. If I end up using it a lighter trigger pull isn't going to factor in. That seems like it'd be an issue with a AD or ND.

I'm about to order nearly that same config, Cruncheon, only without an SSD.

I would've last week but impressions on the heating and battery life delayed me. I realized the battery life isn't really an issue for me. And I guess 60c going up to 80-90c under load is only a bit worse than average for laptops? realistically it'll only play games plugged in, probably on a cooling pad or something and that could help.

pay the 35 for the ic diamond application. also, 80-90's a BIT hot, but acceptable overall for a performance laptop. i'm going to disable turbo boost, which should peel off 5-8c. without turbo boost, my old m14x ran around 85c on the cpu at max load (gpu wasn't bad, and i expect the 650m shouldn't be bad either), but when i disabled turbo boost, it never broke 78c. notebookreview.com says the heat doesn't appear to be a problem unless numbers scare you.

I'm actually a fan of the low tech Kindles and Nooks more that I am the tablet versions. If I'm going to get a tablet, I'm going to get a nice one with all the bells and whistles for a little more money that does all the same things the reader tablets do and more. Plus, the tablets are hard to read in any setting that isn't indoors, and they give me a headache if I try to read on one before bedtime.

Yeah, cheap Kindles still trump the iPad for reading, even with the res bump on the iPad. Small, light, screen is easier on the eyes and just easier to read on.

Yeah I went kind of insane for a bit with Amazon Prime so I can relate. (see previous WHAT DID YOU BUY threads from a few years ago). I was literally buying more media than I could reasonably consume and as such I still have a hell of a backlog of stuff I need to read.
