Play stuntman instead.

I don't even know what the Dukes of Hazzard game is. I don't know if it's a racing game or a movie tie in. I've never even seen the movie or the TV show and only know about it from cultural osmosis. Why do I want to play Shrek games, too? The NRA had a video game on PS2 and I want to play it. :stahp :notlikethis

wow didn't even realize there was a Dukes of Hazzard PS2/Xbox game, another UbiSoft classic

there's two on the PS1, in the first one you basically just try to outrun Rosco and Enos over and over again as audio clips from the show play and the game slows down to like 5fps every ten seconds

it sold so well they made an "open world" sequel in which you get to play as Daisy for like a third of the game, and the "open world" basically just lets you drive around while doing nothing else as all the races are locked off and are like the first game

makes sense that the PS2/Xbox seems to be a movie tie-in though, the PS1 ones have all the people from the TV show I think the sequel has new voice overs though, from a GIS the PS2 game does not look significantly better in the foreground than the PS1 games lol, mainly it's the edges of the draw distance that gives away which is which

random licensed garbage can be fun because a lot of it even gaming sites never played, and if you don't look it up, you'll have no idea if you're getting something halfway competent from a team trying to pay the bills inbetween their own games or if it comes from the depths of codeshop hell that spits out a licensed game every two months

I enjoyed the first PS1 game as a kid. It was basically budget bin Driver with lines from the show.

Edit: Man, looking at a longplay of this on youtube and seeing the CGI intro it got. It amazes me how much Suda51 nailed the PS1-style intro to one of the games in Travis Strikes Again.

I still might do the Bond games I never played tbh. The only ones I played in the PS2 era was half of EON (which either lost a save or the emulator had trouble with certain parts and I quit on it), From Russia With Love, and the Quantum of Solace tie in (which actually was quite fun, same engine as EON and FRWL, also had a big section of all the cool shit from Casino Royale but also had a glitch that made the game unfinishable right at the end :rage ).

After three years in development, Headup is proud to finally reveal Ede Tarsoly’s new masterpiece Everreach: Project Eden, a fast-paced, story-driven 3rd person action RPG set on the visually stunning Planet Eden. You won’t have to wait long as Everreach will release on PC and Xbox One this September, while the PlayStation®4 version will follow a bit later this year.

Ede decided to think big, and for the first time he turned his former one-man  studio Elder Games into a team of five people, plus over a dozen of external freelancers. Together they created a massive 3rd person adventure packed with tactical ground combat, high-speed vehicular warfare and a compelling level and skill system.

I expect tons of jank.

The company website only lists 1 previous game, but the guys Moby Games profile lists 3 other games that he made with that company name.

Developed by Carrya Tech and published by X.D. Network, Roguelike Hero is set to release on PC, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.

Been a bit on the fence with jumping on Black Desert for PS4 when it launches next month.  Any of ya'll ever try the xbone version?  My biggest dilemma is what classes will be available at launch.  I can't seem to find anything official online yet, but I'm assuming it may launch in similar fashion as the boner version, which supposedly only had 6 classes... which are a bit meh since the classes are gender locked.  I dabbled with the PC version for only a minute, but kb&m is not my thing.

Played the PC version a bit, game devolves into pay to win pretty quickly and many quality of life things are also paid. Dunno if that's changed for the console versions but it got tiresome before very long.

The 2080 super seems like the dud of the group. Faster than a 2080, but not too much faster.
The pricing difference is pretty crazy. Especially in Euro land.

The current line-up looks like this:

62% - 2070 (500 - 549)
75% - 2070 Super (529 - 599)
78% - 2080 (749 - 799)
up to 80% - 2070 Super OC models (599 - 649)
up to 84% - 2080 OC models (799 - 899)
86% - 2080 Super (799 - 899)
100% - 2080 Ti (1250 - 1500)

The 2070 Super pretty much runs everything well above 60 (sometimes 100) fps on 1440p.
Only the 2080 Ti can give you a consistent 60fps or higher at 4k on a single card and the 2080 Super is pretty much 'maxed out' as far as OC potential goes.
A 'cut down' 2080 Ti rebranded as the 2080 Super would've murdered everything in the < 999 bracket. But AMD literally has nothing to pit against Nvidia so they can hold onto that card if AMD comes up with anything faster than the 5700XT.

Got the Gigabyte Geforce RTX 2070 Super Aorus.

Boost clock tops out at 1905 mhz(!) on this model vs. the 1770 for the founders and 1815mhz for the MSI Gaming or Gigabyte Gaming OC.

BFV@1440p - Ultra Settings - Ray Tracing/DLSS ON = 68fps
BFV@1440p - Ultra Settings - Ray Tracing/DLSS OFF = 100+ fps

My 980 Ti is roughly equivalent to a 1070 so you'll be making the same jump as I did.
Just make sure to pick one with a nice boost clock like this Gigabyte to give you that extra mileage.

For 4k you have to go all the way with a 2080 Ti (unless you're willing to turn off some bells and whistles) so only a heavily discounted 2080 or a 2070 Super make sense in this high-end tier.
Aiming for anything lower and the 5700XT is the best bang for buck (which sits somewhere between a vanilla 2070 and 2070 Super for a much lower price) but it's AMD and the blower reference design is horrendous.
It shows OC potential (even though it gets rather unstable) so after market designs in August could upend things a bit more.

Pretty crazy to that AMD released a card back in February (Radeon VII) which is already obsolete and EOL.

Yeah i was going to upgrade this month but instead i dropped a bit more and upgraded everything else and got a Ryzen 3600, which I'm loving.  So now I'm gonna have a wait a while anyway but that will give time for the 3rd party 5700's to be tested and such.

I'm not doing 4K, just two 1080 monitors (one 1920x1080 the other 2560x1080). At most I might upgrade to 1440p but that's a maybe, either way I won't need the best shit out there. So we'll see where prices and benchmarks are in a few months and I'll decide.

Any reason to upgrade from a 980GTX yet? Last years models were still not really where I want the increase to be. Can we do 4k @ 60fps on pretty much all new games maxed out with these new cards? Are we there yet?

I still use a 1080p monitor but enjoy that downsampling and probably get a 4k TV one of these days and TV-out to it and would like to game in 4k.

a 2080ti (probably a 2080 Super too) will do 4K/120+ in just about anything until you turn on raytracing, then you get like 40-50fps :doge, but raytracing isn't really that common in games yet anyway.

The 2070 Super murders the 980GTX. So that's certainly an upgrade worth making. I sorta fell into the trap of the commentators and tech people that GPU's haven't evolved much but the difference between my 980 Ti and this 2070 Super is night and day and not
unlike other generational leaps. The card can do 4k quite well in some older games and without ray tracing even BFV is doable in 4k on a single 2070 Super.

According to Benchmarks:
Wolfenstein: The New Collusus - 4k Ultra @ 92fps
Shadow of the Tomb Raider - 4k Ultra @ 45fps
GTAV - 4k Ultra @ 55fps
Forza Horizion 4 - 4k Ultra @ 63fps
Battlefield 4 - 4k Ultra @ 60fps

Most games get you in the range of 60fps on 4k.
With OC models you hit that 60 more stable. However, at 4k the CPU and engine also become important.
I'm still running on a 4790k actually and unlike what I expected at 1440p that isn't a bottleneck so far.

On 1440p everything runs at 100+ fps easily. The 2070 Super is equal to the RTX 2080 or slightly faster depending on the game and clocks.
If you want to hit everything at 60fps or higher on Ultra at 4k, the only option is the 2080 Ti or the Titan RTX.
At those resolutions the 2080 Super only gets you about 5fps more on average because the 2070S, 2080 and 2080S all use the same chip with a different configuration.

I'm not sure if that's changing in a year or so. Maybe if AMD releases a 5800XT next year Nvidia might do something about the pricing but I'm not seeing anything else on the horizon that will upend the status quo.
The next big thing is of course the RTX 3XXX series but who knows when those release.

On the console side I'm expecting more from Ryzen (great results on PC already in terms of performance at least) which should finally put the CPU's to use.
Because the Bulldozer and Piledriver cores used in the Xbox One and PS4 have always been garbage tier.

Ray tracing looks nice and I'm looking forward to Control as that seems to be build with Ray tracing in mind, as opposed to Ray tracing bolted on. However, the performance hit is huge so it will only be used sparingly I think.
