At a guess best-case would be similar to PC low spec? I wonder if they will even try.

While looking at the Touhou Luna Nights dev's site noticed they have a new game in development that is more directly Castlevania styled in part. Pixel art is on point.

(Image removed from quote.)

The Early Access version available currently is only very short though according to reviews. Will be keeping an eye out for a full release.

The same person did a Metroidvania MegaTen spinoff around the same time Metroid 3DS came out and I much prefered the former.

I can't handle all this 100+GB games, ffs.  :notlikethis
SSDs prices haven't kept up with game sizes, tbh, infact after the Quarantine prices have gone up a bit (at least on Amazon).

Pretty easy to move games around though.  Steam is pretty good about just letting you move folders to and fro.
Yeah, it seems like you'd have to choose one or two "big" games to keep on it.
Games like this, RDR2, Division, Hitman (at least this is modular) and whatnot, are not really games that you finish and quickly uninstall, which makes them being dozens and dozens of GB kind of annoying, if you don't have multiple 1TB SSDs.

Also modern SSDs seems to only have NvMe and similar contacts (like the Samsung 970) which makes it even more annoying, as you can't just have a bunch of them like with Sata.
I think my MoBo only has 2 NvMe slots, for example.

i have a 1tb sata ssd for game storage and a 1tb m2 for windows+apps, plus two other 1tb platter hdds for non-game storage. at least one of each seems to be the optimal setup imo.

Necromancer, wizard, demon hunter are my favorite classes in that order. Story is really bad so as soon as you clear it that first time make sure to play in "adventure mode"

*Nightfire video*

This popped up on YouTube. I loved this game back in the day but had totally forgotten about it. I really miss these sort of highly varied action games :tocry

Nightfire I think I only played the multiplayer at a friend's. Agent Under Fire, which was the game before Nightfire, I actually had. My dad is a Bond fan so this kind of shooting game was fine in his eyes  :lol. I didn't have that much FPS experience up to that point so I found it fun at the time. Played a little bit of it again sometime during the 360 generation and realized that it was really quite bad. It made sense though why I enjoyed it back then. There was lots of variety, familiarity with Bond, general lack of FPS experience. Like I'm pretty sure the only FPS I had played up to that point was snippets of the first 2 Doom games, Goldeneye and it's sequel on N64 (only the multiplayer for both), Unreal Tournament, and multiplayer Halo. Now you can say "and somehow you didn't realize that compared to those games Agent Under Fire didn't compare?". When you're a kid, nah. Not really. You just recognize that shootbang is happening and if it isn't boring you, it's A OK in your book.

What's the point of this post? I don't know. When you're young you are able to have fun with things that aren't all that good cause you don't have that many comparisons I guess.

I’m replaying on switch rn, myself. Did I fuck up making a season character for my first character? Can’t turn the story up past masterful. Or do I need to beat the story once with the character? Confused.

Nah you can make a new character thats non seasonal anytime you want. If it's like PC though you have to be in in the main menu to turn difficulty up (you can turn it down mid game though if shit gets too rough iirc). Seasonal just means you're on leaderboards and you get special seasonal items for doing certain shit.

Today my monitor decided to start doing this shit all over (i know it's the monitor, because it does so even when i unplug the Display Port from the PC).
What could it be?

It's a bunch of red vertical lines, but only on (any) pure black parts of the screen, and only on the left half of the monitor.
Also yes, that is an actual photo of the screen, because screen capture wouldn't capture the bug itself.

Any idea of what it could be? just a random hardware failure? I didn't hit it or anything, and i noticed it first today.  :thinking

The monitor is some AOC ultrawide fancy shit i bought when i still had money.  :fbm

EDIT:
Found this guy with the same issue, even if a different device, so i assume it's just my monitor failing.
I did get it on offer on the cheap after all, there was bound to be something.  :beli

Maybe a faulty cable?

Either inside the monitor itself or the cable that hooks up your PC and screen.

Quote
because screen capture wouldn't capture the bug itself.
That means that your GPU is a-ok and it's likely a cable, port or a cable in the monitor itself.

I found this on some other message board:
Quote
that is not a stuck pixel and no software is going to fix this. It is a TAB error and really can’t be fixed by DIY measures. You would have to disassemble your display assembly and put some pressure on the ribbon cable that enters the LCD display right where you see the red line. That should change that line. It is where the small ribbon cable is bonded to the panel and that bond has failed. Sometimes pressure and a piece of fabric tape can hold it down for wahile and make that line disappear, but that would be temporary.

I don't think it's the cable because when i unplug the display port from the screen (but keep the screen on) it still has the whole left side of the screen with red lines.

Also, just checked my order date, and the warranty (2 years) expired, like, 2 weeks ago.
Now, i'm not saying it's a big fucking conspiracy, but...
:thinking :derp :hans1

Ok, it's definitely something to do with the power cable, because the problem comes and goes when i fiddle with it.
It could've come somewhat loose today, since my cat always passes behind there, maybe they pulled it a bit.

Yup. I can't actually have fun playing sim-racing games with controllers. You either play with tons of assists or you don't and feel hampered by the sticks. A permanent set-up like this would be great, but I don't have the room for it.

What could it be?

I've had that happen on a monitor. Was caused by the internal display connector not contacting fully (can be exacerbated by humidity IIRC). In my case it was known where in the monitor the connection resided and a firm but quick whack to the plastic monitor housing there or in a particular spot on the front would resolve it (sometimes took a few attempts). The alternative was taking the monitor apart but cba.

The one guy who mentioned he played Rygar was interesting, I mean if you've only played one game before in the past, I'd imagine it would have been something a bit more iconic like Pac Man or Pong or Space Invaders.

I don't think it was his only game. Same guy mentions it was 1990 and that he had played Mario before and as he starts to play he totally remembers the level and mechanics of the power-ups. I figure he actually played more games as a kid but just Rygar was his favorite. Another guy seems to start to remember the level too as he notes the flag is coming up.

That fat dude who talked a bunch about wrestling also seems to have played some games before as he's holding and using the controller pretty properly.

I thought this was interesting in terms of the age thing not just with the guys, you can see the younger women also liking it more and figuring it out better, while the one older woman you can tell wants no part of it after dying immediately and the other is kinda baffled.

Really makes you think how they're just like us in so many ways. :hmm

My coworker, who's about a year older than me, grew up in rural India and he told me he had a pirated Famiclone growing up, his favorite games were Contra and the Mario titles - it's so interesting how universal this stuff is, even though for most of my life I always thought gaming was mainly a Japan/US/Western Europe (mainly UK) thing. Pete Dorr (retro youtuber who's local, met him a few times in person) has a cool video about the gaming scene in India:

If any of yall have old games sitting in your closet and want to make some money, the reseller market seems to be popping right now. I think people are itching to waste their Coronabux on old videogames.

Chibi Robo seems to have jumped up to about $150 on eBay for whatever reason ... ?

That's just one example of course

Crisis Core on PSP went up as well - FF7R probably helped with that.

Interview with Hiromichi Tanaka and Koichi Ishii about FF3, in honor of the game's 30th anniversary. Good stuff for one of the most underrated games in the franchise (Famicom version that is, the DS version's not that great)

https://na.finalfantasy.com/topics/171

Quote
Oh, and as for something that we had trouble with making FFIII, there’s one good story. Right in the middle of development our main programmer Nasir Gebelli’s visa expired. He was living in a rental condo in Aoyama at the time, but he moved from there back to America. [laughs]
We still had about two months until the master of the game would be ready, so we said, “Well, what else can we do? Let’s go to him,” and packed up the PC and NES and all that and went to the United States. Obviously we were a bunch of Japanese people with all this suspicious technology, and Mr. Sakaguchi got held up in customs at San Francisco. The rest of us said we were there for business and got in just fine, but maybe he told the agent he was just sightseeing or something. [laughs]
