Damn i bought the season pass a week or two ago at full price :lol

No regrets though, I'm still playing the game and will be for awhile. Theres tons to do and unlock.

I've played through 3 levels with guns only, its a ton of fun! Working towards the medal for beating all stages with only guns

Game announcements in the next 4 months will be branded by the Dorritos pope. No idea what the point of that is though.  :doge

Finally game companies will have an avenue to share their news.  :'(
It's not like everyone will still just see them through Youtube/Twitter anyway.  :doge

He said there should be demos though, that could be interesting.

I'm late to this realization, but playing Streets of Rage 4 with the Xbox One d-pad has highlighted how much more strenuous it is to use. The added resistance of the clicky domes tired out my thumb really fast. Does it wear-in eventually, or do I have to work out my thumb?

I wish everyone could just copy the Saturn's design. :'( Accurate, effortless, perfect.

10 seconds in and I switched to the stick. I thought my dpad was broken, but it controlled the same on both of my controllers.

I was having a similar issue.. Was wondering if I was just getting old and my button mashing wasn't what it use to be, but then started questioning if it's the d-pad of the DS4... It is slightly larger than the DS3, so it takes more out of my thumb just to move and double tap constantly.. bork was recommending some Saturn like controllers whoch can essentially be used on PS4.  PC would be even easier of course.  Before the DC, Sega's d-pads were God tier.

Agreed. So bad that the actual plastic walling restricted the inputs. I don't know who thought it was ok.You literally had to twiddle the d pad to get it so the actual d-pad wasn't too close to one of the walls. People who didn't mind putting in a little work sandpapered the plastic walling down a bit, but that's an absurd solution.

I'm surprised at how many times the D-Pad (DIRECTIONAL PAD) has been fucked up to the point that the 'DIRECTIONAL' part of it wasn't working.

As much as I personally rag on the game awards, I've never really heard anyone say anything bad about Geoff Keighley on a personal or professional level. He visited a place I worked once and seemed pretty genuine in how much he loves games and what goes into making them. Dunno what Garry Whitta's deal is.

Sunset Riders is apparently getting ported to switch soon and I'm very excited. Never got to play the arcade version but the Genesis game was a classic.
I had it on SNES later on, but initially played only the arcade version, because the local bar in my little countryside village had one in the back, next to the foosball.
It had that, and some pretty cool Marvel beat 'em 'up with a buff Venom and maybe Hawkeye or Black Cat or some shit, but that shit was rigged to hell to eat your money so we rarely played it.  >:(

What's the best resource for tracking the games you've bought/beaten/backlogged/want to play?\

I remember hearing about the backloggery, but I just wanted to make sure before I go on the endeavor of recording all that stuff.

How Long to beat has a function like that but isn't focused on that. Having an estimate of playtime is really nice to have when choosing what game to play though.

Possibly a big leak of N64 prototypes

the source code of the N64, Gamecube and Wii...

Sounds like a big deal for emulator progress along with the leaked documentation. He also mentions RE pushing the story the leaks have dubious other content in them to dissuade downloading of it, despite no evidence he can see? :lol

There's a bunch of new retro handheld emulator machines out there. I love my GDP win but the battery life is pretty dismal. I used my PSP for my classic handheld emulator and it was perfect for that. Are there any new machines that could replace it as an emulator running? NES-PS1 games?

No experience with any myself, but check out this spreadsheet from r/SBCgaming:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1irg60f9qsZOkhp0cwOU7Cy4rJQeyusEUzTNQzhoTYTU

An android phone with a bluetooth controller would be my choice, personally. Or a Vita, if you can find one in good condition. Of the ARM retro handhelds, the Odroid Go Advance Black Edition looks the most interesing to me, but it's not available yet (slated for May 25th).

Depends on your tolerance for long load times mainly. Getting to and from missions isn’t too bad, but loading saves (which will likely be often if you save scum) can take a while, and the loading gets longer the deeper you are in the game (or at least it feels like it). Expect 1-2 minutes save loading times.

Performance can get choppy during mega explosions and destruction, but since it’s a turn based game I don’t think it matters much.

You get the very occasional glitches where aiming becomes wonky or certain models don’t load, but nothing a reload or worst case scenario game relaunch didn’t solve.

I heard some horror stories about iron man saves glitching, I don’t play that mode myself, but that’s an extra reason to be wary.

Game itself is fucking amazing obviously (get the expansion and DLC too!), and it deserved a far more competent port, but what’s there is perfectly fun and playable imo.

I had plenty of cases where the game would just softlock on a turn, and there was nothing I could do about it besides reload an earlier save. Gone 45 minutes or however long you've been busy. Then the loading times are abhorrent. At one point, the longer your campaign takes the longer it will take to load. A 2 minute loading screen isn't abnormal on Xcom 2 PS4.

I say dont waste your money on this garbage. Yes it's a great game but the port is absolute dogshit.

Here's a stream I did a few years back :

I guess if it's like 10 or 15 bucks it can be okay. Wouldnt pay more than that though.

There was that Kickstarter that took his name, but then afaik it didn't have much to do with him and it turned out a scam or something. Also a 3DS eshop game, Crimson Shroud.
