I thought it had gone some crazy direction where he's taking revenge on people wrecking his gardens and gets thrown in jail then escapes to setup more deathtraps for his neighbors.

And luckily I'll be able to enjoy it in the Czech audio. Such a huge difference when hearing the English version. Just don't feel right. Loses all its charm.

I kinda liked finding out why the police in the richer parts of town where suspicious of you even if you didn't do shit. It's cause your character is black.

Better exploration of the concept than David Cage putting his fucking androids in a concentration camp at the end.

The game itself felt more like a sequel to that EA Godfather 2 game than a Mafia game.

The story concept was good, but the game, even beyond the repetitive gameplay, was fundamentally wrong.
Mafia was good because of the grounded tone and restricted gameplay style, turning it into another GTA close was idiocy.
In Mafia 1 you had the get gas, couldn't go over the speed limit, and so on.
RDR2 felt more "Mafia", in that sense, than Mafia 3.

And even the activities, Mafia was a linear game set in a large, unified map, it was never supposed to have side shit and "stuff to do", in 3 they straight up put that side shit as the stuff you MUST do. 

Mafia 2 got that a bit more, but its story was so uninspired and botched (in the second half) that it didn't really matter.

This is spot on and I've always been bewildered at the love Mafia 2 gets. I think it was babby's first Italian organized crime drama exposure. Mafia 1 was very much a realistic and different game design wise than GTA III or Vice City.

Mafia 2 has so many things botched in it's story that it's a very funny and interesting game, rather than something of great quality.

Reminds me of the guy who runs the dockside warehouse where Vito's father worked. Same voice actor as Vito's BFF Joe and you can really hear it. It's not often you hear actors with less range than David Hayter.

I liked Mafia 2 mostly because of the atmosphere and presentation. Game looked great and the detail was nice. But yeah the story was kind of amateur hour. Just a really shitty version of Godfellas.

Mafia 3 had excellent gunplay. Man does it feel good. But the mission structure was just so lazy and felt like filler.

The Outer Wilds hasn't been on sale for even $1 in every one of these sales. Seems like the developer has a Cuphead kind of feeling that they don't want to devalue their game. I get it, but it also comes across as kinda a dick ego move in a market where it's normal that over time games go on sale.

Will just pick it up on Steam in a month. Would've bought it during the 1 year exclusivity on the Epic store if they ever discounted it.
