Oh gosh. It really is that small  :lol. I thought the tweet was an exaggeration in its smallness, but clicking on the link to the Japanese site. Nope. It's the size a cracker.

In that case I see no point.

This is cool. A cancelled 1992 arcade game from the creator of Wonder Boy is being rescued and released on PS4/Switch.

But why tho?

I remember downloading the demo on my 360, I think it was the whole game with a 90 minute timer active. At the end of 90 minutes, I felt I had seen everything I needed to see.

I played the entire thing, even though the game is structurally boring. You cannot get any sort of challenge from it, by design.

And I'm currently playing Damnation.

:rejoice

I haven't tried it yet, but the PSO2 discord was talking about it. I'll have to free up 100gigs (or get another drive/fit it into my bay) to do that. Hopefully their launcher finds a way to delete the bloat that the MS version does.

They're already on number 3!? :goty2 I still haven't played the first one (that I got through Humble). I remember trying the Pagani edition/demo and the controller support was really bad (wheel recommended). Apparently 2 didn't fix that, so hopefully #3 is the third time the charm for that to be fixed if they want it to compete with Forza.

Project Cars is a weird game series stuck in limbo between the serious sims like iracing, rfactor or even Assetto Corsa and the more casual games like Forza and Gran Turismo. They should pick a direction, because the games so far have neither been particularly fun or realistic.

sounds like they're going in the forza direction, which is fine by me, shame demos largely don't exist anymore cos I'm intrigued but need a taste before buying.

I have been wanting to try that new NFS game (HEAT) cause of the Miami vibe...it's on sale but nooooot quite there yet.

I am excited for next gen racers, I really think it'll be one of the genres that benefits greatly from better data streaming/rapid load times. :hyper

Bought a new keyboard

Fucking love it. But it's too good for my original purpose, of just using it for csgo (i have a huge L shaped desk, and dedicate half of it for cs/competitive shooters with my 240hz monitor, and use the larger part of it for my ultra wide). So thinking about returning it, to get the same keyboard in full size with function and media keys.  :brain

Dicking around with Dreamcast stuff: Started with NullDC but kept getting errors, move on to a newer emulator called Redream that is very slick and organized and basically plug and play in the sense there's no bios, no plugins, etc. However I can't get it to recognize all the games I've put in the directory, and I"m not really even sure why or how because I had Tennis 2k2/Virtua Tennis 2 in there and it didn't show up in the library but then suddenly it showed up 4 times so...I'm also having trouble finding some games. Giant Gram 2000 where the fuck are you :rage I know that shit is easily found because I had downloaded it and played it within the past 2-3 years but it seems like it was only up at the isozone and emuparadise, both of which have been decimated :goty

Thinking about Crazy Taxi 1/2, Sonic Adventure 1/2 (I only played 1 in a display at a toy store, had 2 on Gamecube but I'm sure I never finished it), maybe Street Fighter 3, NBA 2K for a game or two (Imo, Allen Iverson is the Dreamcast mascot, not Sonic)

NullDC is ded. Redream is indeed nice, but doesn't play Naomi or WinCE titles. Demul does both.

Search for "redump dreamcast" on Archive.org. :3

Those Tennis games don't happen to be gdi's? Those can be iffy.

Warhammer II seems vast. I really like it, but am far beyond the curve on these and there are a lot of systems/faction variation/etc. I am digging the setting so will give it a bit, maybe watch some vids.

I always try and get into Total War but it never clicks. I feel like I am playing them wrong or something.  :doge

Yeah, I've always wanted to get into a Total War game and I've tried a few but without experience in the genre it feels like something you'll need to spend the time & patience to learn.

Ducky x Varmilo MIYA-Pro Panda. There is a few different sizes of it. I got blue switches, because I like upsetting people on discord.

Also came with a decent mousepad, and... uhm... a panda?

I even fixed all my cables (not included in this photo) today, and moved my setup around now in excitement over how good it is.  :doge

Honest question. What's the deal with the panda aesthetic? Is there any ryhme or reason to it? I don't mean that as a criticism. It's more that it seems so different from "gamer" keyboards.

Did it come with the plushy as well?

It did come with that yeah. Varmilo is chinese, and do year of the ***** editions every time a new one comes around. Here's year of the pig and year of the dog editions.

Since then they branched out, and just started doing the themes to whatever they want I guess. Mostly still animals, but also some interesting other ones. But I just chose it because I thought it looked good, and was one of the few Varmilo keyboards I could order here in Denmark without having to wait forever for it to be imported.

I really like this one with a calculator they did as well

Ah, OK. I'm just trying to casually induct you into the league of people who spend more time configuring emulators than they do emulating games. Isn't it great though? All that stuff, just out there.

yadda yadda
Redump collections are (assumed to be) good dumps and emulator authors generally treat them as a base line for troubleshooting. The databases are available on redump.org (except Wii, but it's out there), so if you ever come across an image you're unsure of, you can use them to cross-reference the checksums.

The wiki I linked to is just a great resource for what's out there, but they also openly link to bios collections, rom sites and have tips and guides for less user friendly emulators.

Gematsu is saying Star Wars will release on PC, PS4, and Xbone.

Quote
The home page of Xbox.com has leaked the announcement of Star Wars: Squadron, a new game in the Star Wars franchise developed by Electronic Arts subsidiary Motive Studios.

Star Wars: Squadron is the official title of Star Wars: Project Maverick, the existence of which leaked via PlayStation Network in March.

According to VentureBeat, citing sources familiar with the game’s production, Star Wars: Squadrons is an aerial and space combat game about piloting ships in head-to-head battles. It includes a single-player campaign, but the main focus is team-based multiplayer. It is reportedly planned for release on consoles and PC this fall.
