Tales of Xillia just got a 39/40, highest scoring Tales game ever.

Now famitsu reviews don't mean shit anymore, so either Namco is moneyhatting this one or the game is actually good.

We'll get more details later today but with Kurohyou targeting Spring, it looks like the main series might be taking a year off, so we should at least be getting a big new location.

I'm sure RGG is taking a year off, seeing how Binary Domain is releasing around the time we typically see the yearly installment.

Looks like some effort is actually being put into the visuals, for once. I still don't expect much from these games though. And LOL at the "new" main characters looking like the old ones. Only somehow the bikini chick is wearing even less.

We did get Ugly Americans. I was pleasantly surprised. I played the demo and bought it. Reminds me of a game you would see in the arcades back in the mid 90s. That can be a plus or minus, however you want to take it.

Never played RS because it was too expensive to buy and when I actually was interested the saturn emus were still nowhere near good.

This should be fun. I hear it's a lot better than Ikaruga, which is cool cause I really don't like Ikaruga! But I love Treasure's other shmups.

I like it better than Ikaruga, due to it feeling more "grandiose", and due to me ignoring the broken chaining system (though I hear chaining in the 360 RS is supposed to be much more balanced)... the polarity-switching in Ikaruga never fully clicked for me.

I haven't played RSG myself, but everything I've read about it seems to suggest that Ikaruga is a waaaaaay better game. For starters, RSG's chaining system sounds awful. To get a decent score, you have to shoot red enemies and red enemies only 98% of the time, which means you have to ignore two thirds of the enemies in the game. And on top of that, the game takes around an hour to play through from start to finish it, which means it's incredibly long and very slowly paced.

At least Ikaruga deserves the praise it gets... but what's funny about Ikargua is that most of its praise is coming from people who probably aren't even playing the game right.

I really liked MK9 until I realised that the online was forever a piece of shit.

They patched the online several times. It's fine now.

I don't play MK9 much, but I'm always up for it. I usually go online and beat people with basic, easy shit, and they rage quit. I get bored after several matches and just go back to Street Fighter.

I think what it comes down to for me is that most people who play online will destroy me, same for any other fighter. Matchmaking is generally brutal- putting people like me *filthy casuals* against people who clearly play the game A LOT. In the end, why bother I guess.
