I did well. Then I ate like fucking 4 ham sandwiches (fucking meat tray) and got a speeding ticket.

Oh I ran like a 4.39 in training that day.

I just ran a 4.85...fat dudes are faster than me. My son pulled a 4.49 so now I owe him some vintage Air J's.

What's with America drug testing so much and for so many jobs? You get exposed to it due to hanging around on English language web forums and particularly through consumption of US media, and it just seems ridiculous how common and wide-ranging it is.

Just thinking off the top of my head I can't recall anyone I know getting drug tested for any job (except I'm assuming people I know in the military or who work for public transport, but I've not asked

) The idea of getting tested for anything but a tiny amount of jobs just seems strange to me, especially tests for simple or low-income occupations.

We live in a litigious society. If someone was high on the job and did something that caused an accident, injury, etc. then the employer is fucked in a lawsuit unless they have a compliant drug and alcohol testing program. Even with the testing program, the employer might still be fucked.

There's also the issue of employers wanting to screen out as many idiots as possible. I have no problem with people using recreational drugs but if you can't abstain for a bit while looking for a job you lost. A friend of mine is in a management position with FEMA and said multiple potential employees can't pass the drug test. Also said a lot of people can't put together a semi decent resume or even do decent during an interview, but that's another issue.

I don't get it. I tell my cousins all the time that while school is important, you can get far solely by not being a dumbass. Just being presentable, not using your phone at work, having a decently typed up resume, being competent....you don't need a degree for that shit.

They never give me gas. I eat them a lot, specifically as a snack. Boil them in spices until they're soft, throw them on a pan with aluminum foil/olive oil. Add some more spices. Then throw them in the oven on 400 degrees for half an hour. Nice crunchy snack.

I'm not a fan of overcooking shit until it becomes a comfort food. It seems kinda wrong. Although chickpeas aren't really my idea of a health food, especially with all the added salt to make them taste good.

Smh they aren't over cooked. You can make them super crispy if you want but 30 minutes at 400degrees doesn't result in them being over cooked. And I don't use salt. I boil them in garlic and curry, with some creole seasoning. Then before I throw them in the oven I sprinkle a bit more creole seasoning and some red pepper flakes. Far less sodium than salt and it takes better.

Look into that. When you're severely depressed, hygiene is the last thing on your mind. When you reach that stage of lower mental health, you don't have the energy to do basic hygiene tasks. Not showering a whole weekend? "Who gives a shit, nothing really matters anyways."
