So in December I made two payments to a credit card due to 1.) a change in our pay frequency and 2.) upcoming tax season of having no spare moment to actually look at bills and pay accordingly. So I made an extra payment so I was always a payment ahead.

So the next month (aka The Start of the Tax Season of Hell), I make another payment but it's like $5 short from what I thought the minimum was. No biggie because I just made a 2nd payment at the end of Dec. Then the next few months, I pay $10 over what I think is the minimum because I can't even get a gd meal in throughout the day much less track down bills. It isn't one of my debts I'm actively paying down, so I'm just paying around the minimum until I pay down the other stuff, a little more than the minimum and I'm good, right?

FUCK NO! THAT $5 HAS EFFECTIVELY FUCKED ME IN THE ASS. I'm so mad. I'm always so good with this shit, but fuck, fucking work and fucking bullshit and no time to fucking breathe much less log into 20 something accounts and check to see what the exact dollar amount is for blah blah bill, etc. It was to the point a few times this tax season where I had scheduled bills for the following month and that was the only thing that saved me since I didn't even get a chance to log back into my bank until the payments after that were coming due!

So right now my minimum is somehow over $100 on some little bullshit credit card we haven't used in months because I was charged a $25 late fee on $5, then the next month the minimum was higher by the $25 late fee and I didn't know it, so I paid the regular amount. And so on and so forth.  Hopefully if I explain it and they see that there was an extra full payment made in there, they'll wipe the late fees off, but our credit is probably already fucked. They haven't tried calling us, mailing us anything, nothing. I just get my little stupid email saying my bill is ready with no info, and it isn't accessible by smart phone AKA IT DOESN'T EXIST DURING TAX TIME.

He was pretty pissed at the credit card company when I told him what happened. I'd think they would, but I've read some horror stories with Chase that lead me to think otherwise. If not, then great, that will be my next payoff project and it'll be done in 3-4 months!

I've thought about consolidating but never could find an account that wasn't designed to rape us in one way or another. I had been doing a decent job paying shit off without consolidating as our debt isn't totally unbearable. I've paid off some big and small accounts in the last year, but we still have awhile to go. And I don't really want to or feel comfortable taking out a home equity loan for this silly shit.

Chase is a pretty terrible company.  When your identity is stole and you file a claim with them, their own representative told us that it's company policy to reject it.  And they did.  Not more than a minute (literally!) after we got off the phone filing the claim, we received an email saying our claim was denied because the challenged charges on the account were authorized.  However, I've always gotten them to give in after some fighting.  I think you'll get your way if you bitch enough.  I always have.  Don't be pissed.  Okay?

They want to get paid just as much as you want to get a new job.

It's not like you have to accept the job they present, most people do it just to see what's available at the moment out there.

It's amazing the lies people will tell in order to try to draw out tiny pieces of information about your organization, or your ex-organization, or whatever. Then again, other ones just ask for it straight up. It's all part of the game.

I went through recruiters when I was looking for a job here in NYC. I had been sending out resumes for a couple of months before I came to the city with little luck. A recruiter contacted me through Monster with a job that sounded similar to my previous job. She (the recruiter) was operating by herself and was obviously really desperate to get me into the job, but the place ended up not being a good fit. Next, I went to a larger recruiter and they lined up 4-5 interviews for me in the first week, so I had a good pick of places, and ended up in a job I really like.

Recruiters want to get you into a job, and good ones will find you a job you like. But as they want to sell you on the positions they're trying to fill as well, be wary of anything that sounds a bit too good to be true.
