They're the best 2011 team that will inevitably lose to the Warriors I've ever seen

Hayward won't be back this season according to Woj and Hayward's agent. No ligament damage is the good news.

In other news, the Suns got blown out by 48 in their opener.

Alvin Gentry is probably the most obvious hot seat but I'm sure he'll get some time to at least try to start off the season with Boogie in the fold. SVG is his own boss after the owner. Terry Stotts just got extended. Steve Clifford maybe?
after these first couple days, thibodeaux and hornacek

Hoiberg had players fighting each into the hospital and every talented vet on his team try to get off the team as soon as they could.

I'm pretty sure he's doomed.

Ingram and Lonzo with impressive games tonight. Now they just need to do that against a NBA team.

Fox has a meh game and still nearly put up a double-double.

Boogie n Brow continue to do all the work as Jrue remains subpar.

Celts won a game but really don't look that good on offense. Still fierce on defense.

Sixers have Embiid sitting at the 3pt line and that makes me want to punch NBA bloggers.

Wizards look like they'll be the #2 seed in the East.

CP3 looks like he's going to be hobbled for the first month of the season, joining various other popular players on the injury list already. Meanwhile, the Suns, Lakers, Hawks and Mavs look baaaaaaaaad. The Suns are tanking from day one. The finals are obviously going to be Dubs/Cavs for the third year in a row. Expect every thinkpiece saying the NBA will overtake the NFL to ignore these big problems.

Every NBA social media pundit will decry Lavar Ball's mania and the harm it does to Lonzo and then immediately publish the latest Lavar soundbite for clicks.

Clippers hot takes:

They’re better off without CP3.  Nothing against him, but Lou Williams and Patrick Beverley are doing work.

Blake is having more fun.

Their defense is going to frustrate their opponents.

Not sure if they have enough offense to threaten Houston or OKC.

Cavs hot take: Move wade to bench. This ain't the heatles. He never should have been named a starter. Let him lead the second unit and attack weaker players. He's not what he use to be. He can't space the floor. His role should be different now.

Trading Bledsoe and firing Watson should have been done during the off-season but their management is a mess.

The Suns are so poorly run they extended Watson and told him he'd have a say in personnel decisions and that they trusted him to just play the youngins they had stockpiled and take the losses for now.

They're also missing two of their more important stick-in-for-the-kids defenders and missing their come off the bench and just shoot nonsense because the kids are too scared to take bad shots veteran.

They still almost accidentally took that Lakers game. Maybe that's why he got fired. (Or they're hiring who they really want for when the kids mature. Like OKC did with Scott Brooks.)

The Suns have been going after major FAs while also tanking. Apparently they're supposed to be finally committed to tank and development now, but outside of Booker, their youth hasn't really done so well.

I had heard that Watson kept having the Suns sign Ronnie Price just because they're buds and he wanted him on the team as his backup voice, but that team clearly does not care. Bledsoe is checked out and waiting for a trade. I would be surprised if Chandler isn't eyeing playoff teams for the deadline as well.

Chandler has a favorable deal to the Suns for exactly that kind of thing IIRC. And meanwhile, he's an ideal dude for them to have around even playing.

Bledsoe's in a tough spot, he's too old for that team but they kinda need him without Knight and Ulis just to fill the spot, and nobody else is going to give him the contract he wants, he has an opt-out after this season and apparently wants max level money again. Also, Bledsoe's style doesn't really mesh with how the team is being built, or even what Watson wanted to do with it even though they're buds. I also have a hard time thinking of a good spot for him to land that gets the Suns back stuff they'd want.

Maybe just send him back to the Clippers or something to clear him out for "goodwill" with others. That might help make up for shutting him down last year.

I think they could get something good for TJ Warren. I think he's a pretty nice player, but not a star and he doesn't really fit with whatever they plan for Jackson.

They need to just bite the bullet on Bledsoe. They aren't getting anything for him that's equal. Trading him for Ryan Anderson and a non lottery or 2nd round pick is probably the best they'll get.

Phoenix has surprisingly little financial flexibility after signing Warren to a four-year, $50 million extension. Including team options, non-guarantees and a projected lottery pick (plus a protected pick from the Miami Heat), the Suns actually figure to be over the cap next summer.

No. Why? Knicks are rebuilding/going young also. Why give up part of their young core for Bledsoe? He's not taking them to the playoffs.

Cuz if Nik and Hermangomez are your young core then your future is trash. I don't see either player being that great. I think Frank may bust. Bledsoe and Zingis PnRs would be deadly.

I mean do you really want Phil Jackson drafting your PG?

Perhaps I'll rephrase that: When you whiff on a draft pick you need to recognize it fast and maximize its trade value when you have time.

This crop of rookies is gud. Tatum is responding to being thrust into more minutes than the Celtics were expecting him to be responsible for, Fox is producing really well off the bench in Sacramento, dsj is who we thought he was but Carlisle won’t let him off the hook -which is good, lauri is super Channing Frye with the ability to put it in the deck and he’s rebounding way better than I thought he would. Simmons: obv good; jury still out on Fultz but he’ll be fine; Lonzo assuming his role as the tall but slow version of Andre miller. OG and monk both look way ahead of schedule too. Other guys I liked like Isaac and kennard haven’t gotten a lot of burn, but I’m holding out hope.
