I'm thisclose to making a thread about the fucking ridiculous nature of every topic involving gay or trans issues on GAF. Nearly every thread devolves to a handful of posters accusing others of being homophobic if their opinions differ from the norm in any way.

Annnnd Lexi insinuated I've said negative things about her here, which isn't true. I searched my post history and didn't find anything. Yes, I laughed at that comic from opa ages. It was hilarious and in some ways described what I'm complaining about on GAF.

Well, no one can deny that Lexi is truly a female. PD was very caring regarding her feelings in every post, and I could visually see her folding her arms angrily and turning away each time. Her and Dead Man would rather you be a complete prick so you can prove their point for them while hiding their irrational thought process. She probably saw EB or OA discussing her and assumed everybody active on each forum hates her guts and wants her to get raped in prison. Because that's her thought process. Because people disagreed with her in that thread, she insinuated in one of those last posts that the dissenters blamed the victims and cheered on the rapes.

The other girl did the same thing, the hot one transitioning from mtf. wtf was her name. Jamie? Everybody talked about how hot she was, even on OA, and she took down all her pics because she thought everybody was making fun of her. o.O They're both already way more female than I will ever be.

There is something deeply disturbing about the new wave of behavior and thought. The above mentioned example is also backed in theory by Ambigious Cad and perhaps others, but that is part of the frightening aspect. The theory has become more important than the aspect of human compassion, but at the same time they speak as though compassionate when they would willingly send an individual into a more dangerous situation.

This post is trying to make a simple accusation about a general audience but it can't do it without offering multiple word options so as not to offend anyone. The biggest case for taking hrt while in prison is mostly due to gender identity disorder. It's not so much the lack of hrt, but the things that go hand in hand with gid without treatment, the biggest of which being suicide.

Ideally, they should give out some form of HRT if only for the safety of the prisoner's lives, but then, like said before, when you're a prisoner you rebuke your status as a citizen and identities like this shouldn't really matter, but it's not like people with actual GID are like,"man, if I don't cross dress tonight I'm just not gonna be able to get turned on" or something.

So it's a hard situation. I think that personally, in regards to gender roles, if you've used HRT and you're now incapable of even siring a child, have grown boobs and a female bone structure from the hrt you are now female, penis or not. Likewise, if you're a female who took hrt and you're now growing a beard you're now a man, clit dick or not and think the prisoner's values identities should be accommodated but nothing further than that unless they get dangerous (ie suicide).

That said, the gigantic trans community at gaf confuses me. I'm never sure if many of those people are legitimately with GID, or if they're just anime faggets with a moe fetish.

When I was a kid, I phoned the hospital to ask if they could turn me into a girl even without knowing cheeseburgers existed. I dunno bout them, but a lot of them are suspect.

You know what I hate? This whole "what is gender?" movement. It is what I call progressive open minded hippies trying to be way too progressive and open minded to the point where it is distinguished mentally-challenged. The words "manly", "girly", "masculine", "boyish", "feminine" and such are no bad words to conform to what the man wants. Don't we have words like "tomboy", "nancyboy", "butch" and shit to signify males/females who act like the opposite?

Yep. It's one thing to have a social gender role, but it's another thing to be biogically another gender. And this is why I see transitioning as pointless, but even if you do become mtf or ftm you will not be biologically the gender you wish to be, just aesthetically, and people will treat you as such.

And I had PMd Lexi last night to ensure her I had said nothing negative about her here; she said she remembered people laughing at her on a forum outside of GAF. Obviously she was referring to Opa Ages, and the infamous picture. Which I did laugh at.

I still respect Lexi, but I think this is a long pattern of insecurity and being over emotional. Even the slightest criticism of her garners a strong reaction, and people in the trans thread have been more than willing to stroke her ego. The same can be said of Jaime, who is more attractive than the average female GAFer yet took her pictures down at the slightest inclination of negativity.

If someone were discussing a race related issue and took a hard stance I disagreed with or felt was ignorant, I would here them out. All this insecurity leads me to an absurdist reductionist conclusion.  It may be bigotted, but so far I've seen very little that suggests most transgenders aren't depressed folks who never learned to accept themselves for who they are.  Like, that's the first sign of depression, right? DSM is constantly reiterated. At one time homosexuality=mental illness.  I don't have a problem with homosexuality.  Its an aspect of someone's personality.   The problem I perceive with transgenders is that they let this 'ideal me' take over every aspect of their personality.  That's an exaggeration of course, having trouble finding the right words tonight.  I guess what I'm saying is- society ingrains us with expectations for our gender.  These are not usually based on instinct and differ from culture to culture.  I don't think its a coincidence that tgs just happen to adopt the correct set of emotional responses, hobbies, preferences etc that they perceive in their ideal cultural male/female role.

So you're actually trying to question the DSM by saying gender identity disorder doesn't exist?

I'll be first to admit that a lot of transsexuals appear to be people uncomfortable with who they are, and would rather go the whole mile rather than the go halfway and be labeled as girly men or butchy women, but to put all of us with GID under a bus despite evidence that suggests the contrary just screams close-minded.

That said, I do think most of these problems would go away if people were just open and would accept people of either gender attending to non-traditional gender roles, personalities, and physical attributes but I don't see it happening any time soon. Though, in definitely depends on the culture. In Japan for instance, androgyny is pretty much en vogue. In America, in some circles it's certainly coming up, though, but it still makes plenty of people uncomfortable.

Gay/drag gender roles in Vietnam adapts a religion and becomes a temple. Sometimes they refer to the goddess medium as she, as mother, or as he. They refer to significant others as wife and husband. There is also a sense of lineage sans procreation.

Various ideas in the film would blow GAF's top, but it's pretty interesting. I know people over there freaked out over ladyboy being regular terminology in Thailand.
