Simply type the name of the program and you will get an instant search result, or better yet, press windows key + q to get instant access to every application you have installed. I changed the icons of the programs with an app because ms and other companies are stupid and aren't making icons that fit the aesthetic of their brand new os, but everything else is within the metric of windows 8 usability.

click the minus button on start, you will be able to organize. Each section is divided into...well, dividers. right click on a section, and you will have the option to name the group.
