I like the theoretical idea of being able to not only make some quick cash, but also to validate the worth of so much wasted time. "Selling this esteemed Steve Youngblood account aught to fetch a pretty penny. I'll pay off my credit card debt!" Alas, the allure of this idea would probably disappear completely when I realize that it's fetching nothing at auction because -- despite what my mom told me -- I'm not very popular, and I've thus wasted my life.

The guy was doomed to be banned from the get go so i toyed with him a bit and discovered he wanted my account to fuck with another member he always had issues with and to read what the mods posted about him in the mod only forums.

I think there's slightly more to it than that. I think they'll ban you if they realize you're a banned member and one or more of the moderation staff doesn't particularly care for you.

I was banned for being an alt despite doing nothing remotely bannable that day. Pretty sure if I ever get an alt and do anything to give myself away, I'd be banned instantly.

I think they go by IP addresses, not behavior.  Nobody could pick out specific behaviors of every banned member
