If I wanted to play indie games on a portable, I just would have bought a Nvidia Shield and linked it to Steam. Indies are not games, they're college student projects masquerading as games.

I was a latchkey kid but I liked the alone time before my parents got home.

My sister and I did the latchkey thing, my brother got a babysitter because he was unbridled evil.  We'd come home together, I'd sit her down in front of cartoons, and go start getting dinner ready.  I actually didn't mind it, either.  It was good quiet time where you could pretty much do whatever without worrying anyone was going to yell at you or give you shit.  Then when I was 11 I got a newpaper delivery job, so my sister started going to the babysitter and I would just go deliver papers.  By the time I got back, my parents were usually coming home soon, so I'd just preheat the oven and do basic dinner prep and then relax for 10 minutes or so.
