FF12 was in development over a -- Oh, right. Square Millenium Party when that had that FF8 dance-hall real-time PS2 tech-demo. 

To be fair though, that had some flaws (mostly the second half after Matsuno left) but yeah... probably better than the majority of things like Duke Forever that come out and just had time pass them by.

Ubi's games all seem to have hooks that contribute nothing to gameplay.

Its good.  A solid 8.  Its also a shit load of money and work to make it fun.  Also the connectivity added nothing to the game.  A smart UI could have been possible instead of offloading everything on the gba.
