My independent research has led me to believe Qanon is a bunch of conspiratorial bullshit that is just dragging people around by the nose who have poor critical thinking skills and an overabundance of motivated reasoning.

One of my favorite Qanon inferences was a board favorite conspiracy by the now digitally deceased etiolate. Except in the Qanon version, not only was Seth Rich the secret leaker of the DNC documents to Wikileaks(something Mueller roundly destroyed the credibility of last week) but his death was the result of Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Donna Brazille hiring an El Salvadorian hit squad of MS-13 assassins to take him out. Because apparently the DNC couldn't successfully firewall their networks, couldn't manage to get away with giving Hillary a debate question, and generally sucked at being even a slightly incompetent political organization, but they have the political assassination game on total lock..And the only foil to their plot was underestimating the sleuthing of 4chan posters.

Oh Macron...

On the 1st of May, some militants captured on video what appeared to be police brutality in Paris during a clash with the CRS (anti riot police) including punching a man in the neck. You can see the video below, the offender is the man appearing at the beginning and end, wearing what looks like a CRS helmet but no armor or uniform. It was assumed it was maybe a member of the BAC (plainclothes officers in charge of first response in delinquency) but if so would probably have had the mandatory orange arm band identifying him as a policeman.



It turns out, as discovered just now, he's not at all a policeman but Alexandre Benalla, a member of Macron's team (formerly in charge of "security questions", apparently has done a lot of similar duties at the Socialist Party, driving candidates, party own security detail in meetings) currently appointed at the French presidential palace l'Elysée (as a deputy to the cabinet director) and had of course no delegation whatsoever to enforce the State monopoly on violence.

No reaction from Macron yet, but the man has been punished with a final warning before termination and put on leave without pay... for two weeks. Supposedly demoted to "security questions" again since, he was inside the coach transporting the football team down the Champs Élysées


It's slowly coming out that his attitude raised eyebrows in Macron's party, he allegedly tried to order rubber ball launchers and riot shields during the campaign in 2017 but was denied by the direction. Looks like the sort of dude getting a hard on playing commando and punching students.

A preliminary investigation has been opened by common justice authorities following the media coverage though.

Yes.
Though to be fair the guy was basically a security guard / bodyguard / driver before that, and in the reserve of the gendarmerie. He was a mainstay at the Socialist Party since 2011 (he was 20) and the head of internal security there apparently thought the guy was doing his job well enough though there's of course a couple of times he went rough. He was also fired after only a week of being Arnaud Montebourg (a prominent Socialist) driver, the former minister claiming he got caught in an accident and that he wanted to flee the scene... His deputy position was more of a reward for his involvement in Macron's campaign, I guess.

All in all it's way more anedoctal than Mitterrand using his cadre of elite gendarmes to set up illegal wiretapping from the Elysée or some of the paramilitary shit going on around De Gaulle party's security but yeah THE OPTICS© of just docking two weeks pay are terrible. Any normal citizen impersonating a cop (not to say anything of the use of violence) would get the book thrown at them.

LONDON—Steve Bannon plans to go toe-to-toe with George Soros and spark a right-wing revolution in Europe.

Trump’s former White House chief advisor told The Daily Beast that he is setting up a foundation in Europe called The Movement which he hopes will lead a right-wing populist revolt across the continent starting with the European Parliament elections next spring.

The non-profit will be a central source of polling, advice on messaging, data targeting, and think-tank research for a ragtag band of right-wingers who are surging all over Europe, in many cases without professional political structures or significant budgets.

Bannon’s ambition is for his organization ultimately to rival the impact of Soros’s Open Society, which has given away $32 billion to largely liberal causes since it was established in 1984.

Over the past year, Bannon has held talks with right-wing groups across the continent from Nigel Farage and members of Marine Le Pen’s Front National (recently renamed Rassemblement National) in the West, to Hungary’s Viktor Orban and the Polish populists in the East.

He envisions a right-wing “supergroup” within the European Parliament that could attract as many as a third of the lawmakers after next May’s Europe-wide elections. A united populist bloc of that size would have the ability to seriously disrupt parliamentary proceedings, potentially granting Bannon huge power within the populist movement.

After being forced out of the White House following internal wranglings that would later surface in the book Fire and Fury, Bannon is now reveling in the opportunity to plot his new European empire. “I'd rather reign in hell, than serve in heaven,” he said, paraphrasing John Milton’s Satan in Paradise Lost.

The Movement plans to research and write detailed policy proposals that can be used by like-minded parties; commission pan-European or targeted polling; and share expertise in election war room methodology such as message discipline, data-led voter targeting and field operations. Depending on electoral law in individual countries, the foundation may be able to take part in some campaigns directly while bolstering other populist groups indirectly.

“I didn't get the idea until Marine Le Pen invited me to speak at Lille at the Front National,” recalled Bannon. “I said, ‘What do you want me say?’”

The response came back: “All you have to say is, ‘We're not alone.’”

Bannon was stunned to discover that the nationalist movements in Europe were not pooling skills and sharing ideas with populist parties in neighboring countries—let alone on a global scale.

Bannon said the Front National recognized that he was “the guy that goes round and understands us as a collective.”

Up on stage he told the crowd: “You fight for your country and they call you racist. But the days when those kind of insults work is over. The establishment media are the dogs of the system. Every day, we become stronger and they become weaker. Let them call you racists, xenophobes or whatever else, wear these like a medal.”

Bannon said Farage and Le Pen would take the lead in figuring out the logistics of creating a new European parliamentary grouping that could be home to all of these parties and more.

Oh it couldnt be the massive self imposed austerity that the troika imposed in all but germany(please don't prove by contradiction...) which led to a recession lasting almost a decade to save deutschbank, soc gen et al. The problems of big immigration influxes certainly exacerbated the already dire conditions but please stop pretending this is the crux of it all. I will give you the benefit of the doubt since I don't live in the EU and can't see first hand what is going on but from a critical external perspective your argument seems weak. Today a girl was raped in Rotterdam. She was raped so violently that's she had to be hospitalized in the IC.
Just imagine what that poor woman must've gone through.
