Looks like *checks notes* Ethiopia and Egypt are going to war

https://twitter.com/eha_news/status/1262843507154305030
I doubt this results in a war, while they have walked away from the negotiation table around the fillrate of the dam, the Egyptians have essentially accepted this is happening and are just trying to get the best possible outcome for themselves via negotiation shenanigans

Have you guys covered this yet? Also why is the news so shit, they pitch this as Putin amending the constitution so he can stay in power (which is factual) when the real changes are that's he's making amendments for a post Putin era that relies on cooperation and making it so Russia's strong man style presidents will no longer be a thing after him.

Apparently his uncle died and that's why he had to make the family visit but instead of apologizing and explaining the situation they handled it in the worst way possible.

Cummings will probably resign himself citing some dumb shit about how a media assault on him and his family blah blah blah and then Boris hires him again for another job sometime.
Or he wants to drag Boris down with him as some sort of act of revenge.

It's weird Boris of all people should know the dangers of the virus so Cummings really has him by the balls.

Yes and also his dog ate the print copy of the rules saying people should stay home especially if they have symptoms.

If you're joining us:

Dom: My wife got sick, we were worried we would end up not being able to take care of our 4yo, so we drove to my parents' place 260 miles away.

BoJo: Fatherly instincts!

Dom: Absolutely. Also, we didn't want to expose anyone in London to a potentially deadly virus. So my 17yo niece said she could take care of the kid if needed. But you know, we strictly self isolated and all that.

Journos: Multiple people saw you around Barnard Castle though. A 30mins drive from your parents' place.

Dom: Oh that. Yes akshually, a couple of days before returning to London my wife was worried about my eyesight, so we went for a test drive and somehow ended up at the castle. That was on her birthday but that's totally irrelevant. And we had the kid with us. Because my fatherly instincts told me that I should test my eyesight this way.

Dom: Also akshually my wife wasn't really sick sick, she threw up. So clearly she didn't have covid because that makes you cough and stuff, so it was OK for us to not stay at home. Don't ask me why we were worried we couldn't take care of the kid then.
Plus did I mention that I've been the target of harassment in London? So we were scared and all that. Also, my uncle died. All right I'm off, fuck you everyone!

LONDON — A junior minister in Boris Johnson's government resigned on Tuesday over top aide Dominic Cummings' alleged breach of the U.K.'s lockdown guidelines, saying he could not "in good faith" tell his constituents that the advisers' actions were justifiable.

Douglas Ross, under secretary of state for Scotland, wrote to Johnson saying that the public reaction to reports of Cummings' 260-mile drive from London to Durham in late March demonstrated that the adviser's "interpretation of the government guidance was not shared by the vast majority of people who have done what the government asked."

Not honoring a Vicar means that the Mace of the House of Commons has to displayed on the far end of the London bridge before 4PM but after the pigeons have taken flight from Windsor Castle.
If the Speaker of the House does not bring the Mace back wrapped in the Handkerchief of King Richard V before tea time the next day it automatically triggers a leadership contest in the Conservative Party.

Or so article 5B, Paragraph 6 of the rules of Parliament states, which can be superseded by calling for the Endfield amendment of 1845 which triggers a gun fight to the death between the Chief of the Royal Carriages and the Admiral of the Navy after flipping six coins sideways opposite from the river Thames.
