1. Their hardware is AMAZING despite being overpriced (and underpowered compared to WINtel stuff at the time). Their Powerbook/MacBook line is especially good for general use
2. OS X

I have a Mac Mini I bought 10 years ago, love it. I'd get another Mac if it didn't cost as much as me buying parts for a gaming PC and building it myself did. Shiiiit, I'd buy a Hackentosh off Apple if they were dumb and redoing that. I miss OS X. Granted, I can kinda get a similar look and feel with Gnome on Linux now, it isn't the same thing (nor BSD).

macbooks are nice. I've had my original unibody since they launched in 2008, literally no problems with it besides the hardware aging. I also never upgraded past mountain lion. I have treated the thing like shit, dropped it a lot, let it heat up a lot, and it's still going strong. I'm just now starting to consider a replacement, definitely with another macbook. I don't consider it overpriced for how long it has lasted and how durable it is.

edit: i do have a desktop "gaming" pc for more intense stuff, so that allows me to just use the macbook for basic shit.

My current Haswell 13" Macbook Air is probably the best hardware purchase I have ever made.

For all the shit Apple gets its laptops seem to be a couple of generations ahead of everyone else.

The battery life, form factor and trackpad are crazy good.

They're reliable, yes. But they are overpriced if:

-You look at the costs of similar parts on WINtel's side
-You're going for general web-browsing and don't need the cruise-ship luxury liner price

But yes. The battery life and stuff is really good. You can buy a Mac for a $1000 and unless you treat it ULTRA HORRIBLE (dropping it off skyscrapers bad), it'll generally last you far far far longer than a Windows laptop would, especially if you don't go with the latest OS X release on them.

(My only concern is Apple's support for earlier OS's and security holes/etc patches)

Sony stanleys are more irritated than ever PC stanleys can play the pixel counter game better than them. Same in the Battlefield Hardline thread (Though to be fair that game looks like rancid butthole anywhere). It's like all the technical talk at the start of the generation they were promoting backfired on them hard and hate when PC stans pull them up on it.

Businesses are also moving hard to social media and google SEO. It's all about consumer engagement on a personal level and "Shareability" so that people pass on the marketing to others. Low cost and effective.

I didn't think so based on that shot. slightly sharper texture, sure. but everything else is blurred, aliased, small draw distance, etc. that's what I meant was that they're caught up on the AF so much that they disregard everything else, not to mention 60fps and the res bump.
