She proceeded to tell me how they had to explain what all the sex acts for sale were. You haven't lived until you have a grandma explain what "around the world" is in great detail in a courthouse

While I get plenty of use out of my PS4, it's the first console I've ever owned where I feel like I would be fine without it.  I have plenty of games for it, but 99% of them are available on PS3, Vita, and/or PC.  I think the only games I own that are not on other platforms are Uncharted 4, Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator, and Assault Suit Leynos, and the latter is coming to PC in the fall...and you know Revelator will follow.  I'm looking forward to KOF XIV, too, but I suspect that will also hit PC.  If I didn't own a PS4, I'd still be playing a ton of PS3 and using my PC more for "next-gen" games.  It's almost tempting to sell off my PS4 (and games) and laptop and use the money to get a much more powerful desktop PC. Almost.

I have been fine so far without a PS4 but anything I want to play is also on PC or X1 so I'm set. If anything the X1 is also redundant but I use it as a media center and I pretty much only play physical games on there that I get for super deep discount.

When it comes to console use just for games, the Wii U has gotten the most time by far. Mario Kart and Smash are great for when a bunch of folks come by. Just leave controllers out and the TV on and people will naturally gravitate to it.

I put 3 hours into NMS.  You shoot a lot of rocks.  Then you repair a system.  Then you shoot more rocks.  Then you recharge the system you repaired.  Then you shoot more rocks.  Then you repair another system.

Once you get into space some things change up a bit.  You shoot asteroids rather than rocks. 

A couple of interesting things have happened but if there aren't craftable tools to speed this stuff up as you progress then it's kind of a waste.

The only thing on PS4 I actually want to play is Uncharted 4. Everything else is coming to PS3 (Persona 5, can't care about 1080p on console), or PC (read: nearly everything third party on PS4). Why would I buy one for a 12 hour movie? I'll wait until the last "revision-upgrade-of-PS4-we-promise!" edition and then play that. Especially since the multiplayer is probably screwed like it has been since Uncharted 2's infamous 1.05 patch.

Wut? You can meet other players in Elite with its 400 billion solar systems no problem. You can even meet a friend (or several) in a certain ravine on the sixth moon of the third planet of the second sun in HIP 205234 if you wanted. If the netcode feels like it that day, that is.

Difference there is Sean Murray made the idea of running into another player in his game as a biblical event that might not even happen during the game's lifetime.

The fact that two people ran into each other on day 1 in a game where the devs have actually touted how many planets a seed generator can make, is amazing in the scummiest way.

The amount of pressure this small team likely has on them after they were thrown in front of the full force of Sony's push was probably more than they could reasonably handle. I imagine they completely intended to have full functioning multiplayer but had to scrap it for whatever reason.

And I also imagine they were explicitly told to be cagey about that fact from Sony. Rock and hard place.
