In all honesty what would really help Americans is shit that can be walked to from their house. Until that happens meh.
Majority of America is suburban car sprawl. Walkability is a foreign concept to most.
it's so nice tho
It's really nice to you and I, sure. I love parking my car on Friday and not having to use it at all. Famers market, restaurants, stores, bars, the park, etc. When I get to work (in the suburbs) on Monday and tell people how I walked all over on the weekends to different places their initial response is always "you walked a mile for dinner?"
Walking a mile in the burbs has an extremely different feel to it than walking a mile in Seattle. Gotta give them that.
