I used to get blackout drunk 8-10 times a month. You're fine.
It wouldn't bother me as much as it does if not for a couple things which might add context:
- The last episode was at my company's Halloween party.
- Was "gently suggested" to me that I leave (not in terms of me losing my job or anything, but the company culture is merciless when it comes to mocking drunkards at our own parties.)
- This was at 10:30 PM. I was probably 80% black-out.
- A coworker who I had been chatting with all night decides to come with me since apparently I was dumped into the street and he didn't think I could make it back to the office (two blocks away.)
- I barely barely remember this, but I walked into traffic when they had a green light and almost got hit by a semi. Thankfully they stopped (according to him.)
- Fell down in front of the taxi stand and bruised my wrist (thought it was fractured.)
- Got into an argument with him about me not wanting to taxi/Uber home (since I somehow remembered I was broke AF at this time.)
- Stormed off from that pretending I was going home, then looped back to the office (I think.)
- Grabbed my bag/keys and then went home for real, but on the way I apparently walked with another coworker to the T station (I don't remember this at all.) I believe I fell down again at this time and got a deep scar on my opposite hand (picked some gravel out of it the next day.)
- I don't remember getting home.
On top of an incident earlier that summer where I won a promotion for $5 margaritas, promptly had 10 of them, and then
fell asleep on the sidewalk two blocks from my apartment.
So yeah. This shit is gonna end in 2016. Brown state I'm cool with. Blackout is dangerous and scary.
