Pretentious Hobo
The weirdest part of noted lore expert and film historian Roberto Roberts Esquire doesn't recognize the "cop who accidentally killed an innocent and is traumatized" was a long standing trope of police and detective movies for literally decades. One that would fit in, say, a Frank Sinatra movie from the 60s, perhaps? Like, idk, maybe something that might have been a sequel to a Frank Sinatra movie from the 60s, perhaps? But nah, I'm sure that whole subplot was just improv the day of.
His thesis, that he offers zero evidence for but throws it out multiple times, that Al's character was written on the set because they realized no one would believe a cop wouldn't want to shoot people all the time without some kind of tragedy, is hilarious, though.
