It sounds like a lot of them thought the ACLU only goes after Trump and the alt-right. In their zeal to "resist!" Trump, they mindlessly donated to the ACLU without even looking up on the history and work of the organization. And it is not like the ACLU is now some pro-Trump/alt-right organization. The fact that Milo is weakly connected to a case is enough for them to throw the ACLU under the bus.

The ignorance and overreaction should make them embarrassed about themselves.
