Pretty sure the whole "getting approved takes months" hasn't been a thing for quite a while anyway.

It took +2 years to get mine approved, I didn't even remember registering to that once I received the approved email. I know they open the floods when it's banning season, it's very obvious because you get all these ban baiting threads and many new junior accounts at the same time.

Star Trek > Star Wars

There's only four good SW movies. That's like 2 hours per movie or something? That's 8 hours of good Star Wars content.

But Trek has over 700 fourty minute episodes. The second you've seen 8 hours worth of good Trek is the second you've crossed the amount of good Star Wars content is, and that's not even scratching the surface.

Trek wins purely by numbers. Star Wars can't even compete. Star Wars is like a tequila shot. Trek is an 750 ml bottle of tequila. Even when you add in Star Wars tv shows like Clone Wars, it's not even remotely close, and you'll never see Darmok in Star Wars.

To be fair, the Clone Wars cartoon (by Tartakovsky), Clone Wars CG show, and Rebels are all pretty well regarded. Star Wars isn't "just" the movies, although I agree Star Trek has it beat in depth and quantity.

Eh, I don't think it's an extreme position to believe that Bungie should be shut down over using white supremacist imagery in Destiny 2, it's the straw that broken the camel's back for me. Bungie has been profiting off making a safe online environment for white supremacists since Halo online. It's where a lot of famous alt-righters and gamergaters met before their movements really began, because it was a safe space where they could say anything or harass anyone without dealing with any consequences. Hell I don't think it's a stretch to believe that if the Halo franchise never existed, we'd have Hillary in the White House instead of Trump. That's how much of an effect these video games have on our society.

But if you want to just stand by and make excuses for obvious racism, be my guest.

The thing, for the longest time, that no one wanted to talk about until it was too late is that it was always this way. It's why online gaming is super toxic and can't be fixed. It's why women start steering away from gaming around the time get to middle school. It's why the average stream is filled with sexist/racist/homophobic on an almost constant basis. It's why my aunt comes to me and asks if I have a problem with women because she read about the gamergate stuff happening in the paper.
