I doubt everyone you described self-identify as alt-right. Infowar conspiracy nuts, for example, have been around way before the term even existed. There's a bunch of people being called alt-right nowadays who have never even heard of the term before.

There's certainly not any nice Alt-Rghters, but there's probably Alt Right ppl who want good things for people. They just go about it in a way that is intentionally abrasive.

In both cases, its not the cause but the method of the cause.

edit: agrajag is right in that the label will be applied to people who have no association with it, but that gets into the broader use of labeling others to dismiss them. You need alt-right to absolutely mean racist nazis in order for the label to be effective against non-fringe people. True is same of SJW. There's a handful of people who get called cuck, SJW and alt-right, depending on which nitwit is angry at them.

I think the whole alt-right nonsense is due to the fact that left folks always thought all conservatives were rednecks and guys from the South who go to church every Sunday, hate gays and blacks, think women belong in the kitchen and generally want the 50's back.
