That -may- have been the thread where EL got very vocal about how he could never sleep with a transwoman.
Don't blame him. If you like hips you won't get that with a transwoman. That's not something you can easily fix and therefore one of the easiest tells if you're unsure lol

Not sure why you'd want to be a different sex for real though. Must be mental illness.

The way I look at it is that the brain is oppressing the body. Everything about you states that you are a particular sex, yet your mind wants to take control and subvert that which is true. So it forces your body to go through oppressive regimes like injections, designed to ruin your biology through completely unnatural means. There are legitimate fears with hormone shots, and the fact that they need to constantly be administered means that it is a farce the whole way.

We treat cancer with deadly radiation and poison.

Isn't cancer abnormal though? That's not a good example. How do we treat HIV atm? (I know you can't cure it.)

I mean, the chemical's in your body being off and making you behave as if you are one gender but you are not is abnormal as well.

We treat HIV by telling them they're shit out of luck.

Not in California. There they treat it under the rules of Communism. What's mine is yours.
it's like you somehow know how to post something even stupider every time you hit reply

What? I was merely quoting this article:
http://www.independent.co.uk/california-hiv-infecting-felony-misdemeanor-a7988261.html
1. nothing about this law relates in any way to communism

2. it's actually a good change when it comes to handling HIV infection.

Someone make the trans thread.

I'd imagine that would go worse than the Neogaf one assuming it doesn't get locked outright.

also: HIV is an extremely not deadly infection if you live in the US and cannot be transmitted by those who are undetectable (i.e, the majority of the population with HIV)

I'm aware of HIV mate. It's not a lost subject on me.

Also, I'm sorry for going political.

-Content creators are nowhere to be seen.

Knowingly transmitting hiv seems fine if the recipient is aware and consenting to the fact. Making it an out right felony does have a roundabout way of discriminating against the gay community which for some reason has a higher than average rate of hiv.

But if there is no consent clause, then that law is premature and seriously fucked up. If you aren't aware your partner has hiv, then yeah they should be a felon.

And the reason HIV spread in the gay community is because of butt sex. It's easier to contract HIV that way.
this is quite reductive

HIV spreads quickly in the gay community, but it's actually pretty complicated:
1. It's fact that not all gay men have anal sex. It is easier to transmit STDs through anal sex, but not the only method. Sharing needles spreads HIV faster than sex
2. The stigma that continues to exist around the gay community prevents men from coming forward, getting tested, and protecting future partners
3. HIV is a weak virus, and is quite difficult to transmit anyway, even through an easy channel such as anal intercourse
4. Nearly all men who have HIV are on medicine regimens, from the poor to the rich, and California has insanely great resources for men who are HIV+, even with no money, to seek this medicine at low cost.
5. Men who are undetectable, through meds or otherwise (many gay male immune systems naturally repress the HIV virus enough for it to be impossible to transmit), cannot transmit the virus

... Therefore, the men who have it, and are transmitting it, are men who don't know they have it/haven't gotten tested due to stigma/etc.

Decriminalizing the act of transmitting HIV removes a whole host of stigma about the infection. It does not, as other idiots have surmised, encourage people to transmit it. There's a tiny subsection of the gay community (that's barely existent) who bug chase. Everyone else would rather not have to deal with the daily routine.

On top of that, PrEP is a drug that exists that is absolutely fantastic in curtailing the spread, thus reducing the need to criminalize those who have it. Most who have it never knew they did in the first place.

I could just grab Andy and we could have put up something better probably the night after GAF went down and it would have gotten increasingly better over the week rather than not existing to the public.

Cerium paid for a bunch of crap because they didn't have anybody with the technical skill to do it by themselves in their initial group.

Their main skill was in the whole secretive discord thing to hold the communities together, they managed to keep thousands of people sitting on their hands on four days rather than going literally anywhere else except while they waited. And they even got a forum courting GAF users to tweet about how they were "backing off" in favor of it. And Shinobi got a cloying Polygon article written about three days before it went up.

all of this is true but motherfuckers in the hinterlands were an actual genocide is taking place via the opioid issues are fucking scared shitless what will happen if HIV spreads again like it did back in the 80's (when crack was a thing)

I'm late to this one, but there has definitely been at least one thread on GAF about whether it's transphobic to not have sex with trans people. That topic was what got Mumei demodded and Evilore revealed some of his less progressive views.
let me be a little more frank here.
why the fuck i should care if a dude wants a porn star transgender as a sex partner.
They aint killing him like a terf might.

Knowingly transmitting hiv seems fine if the recipient is aware and consenting to the fact. Making it an out right felony does have a roundabout way of discriminating against the gay community which for some reason has a higher than average rate of hiv.

it was against the law to knowingly transmit HIV even if the other party knew? I don't think that was the case, was it?

And the reason HIV spread in the gay community is because of butt sex. It's easier to contract HIV that way.
this is quite reductionary

Most who have it never knew they did in the first place.

all of this is true but motherfuckers in the hinterlands were an actual genocide is taking place via the opioid issues are fucking scared shitless what will happen if HIV spreads again like it did back in the 80's (when crack was a thing)
Once the OTC version of PrEP is made available, I think we will have an answer if that were to occur.

And when will that take place and how much that gonna cost and will the medical industry even allow a fair price for it? We saw what happened to epi-pen. OTC Prep in one companies hands is gonna wreck some margins up business wise.

I am coming around to the theory that resetera is almost too good as a startup forum.. way too many game sites people singing its praise and joining in a bit too fast.

Plus the speed it went up as soon as the tyler story got out....

Less progressive? As in less progressive then people can be free with their sexuality?

It just left medical trials and is being worked on by the FDA. I'd say 2-5 years tops. Even if OTC is down in low three-digit cost with no insurance, that's a huge upswing from something like the thousands of dollars it is now. It is also subsidized to $0.00 by Medicare in every state with extensive coverage at the moment anyway.

It's also a seasonal drug. It doesn't need to be a drug someone is shackled to, which makes it good for those who find themselves less promiscuous or are no longer having issues with shared needles, etc.

He said you shouldn't be labeled transphobic for it, Mumei said you should, they argued for a bit, Mumei got demodded by the end of it. I want to say this was like 2 years ago.

Shinobi, Nibel and some others were all dudes who had "connections" on twitter (which they used for GAF posts) they pulled on strings:

The "speed" was literally the weirdest thing about it. You could have put a forum up that night. Yet they kept putting it off because they were trying to wall off gamergators.

I don't see how that follows. If they don't know they have it then they aren't willfully passing HIV to another person.

Getting a forum up off the ground isn't rocket science guys.

There's no conspiracy here.

This gonna be interesting. Could be a similar dog whistle issue the GOP use just like the birth control thing now, which is a shame. a few i know have the bug and one got it from a partner that knew and didnt tell.

I'm talking by the standards of GAF, absolutely. I should have been more clear about that.

Yeah, i didnt pay too much attention around the time all the drama broke, but after a few minutes of looking, im wondering how that forum managed to blow up immediately.

Edit: nm, i see those gaffers who have an inexplicable amount of followers on twitter started it. I guess shinobi shared leaks, but i dont get how nibel has 32k followers lol

Seems like they are gonna eat gaf's lunch but i agree with an earlier post saying it's already boring and gaf is back to being the wild west but with like a bunch of stray pussies

also: HIV is an extremely not deadly infection if you live in the US and cannot be transmitted by those who are undetectable (i.e, the majority of the population with HIV)

Yeah, I was there. People were baiting bans on people that supported the trans community just because they themselves have their own sexuality. There were a handful of transphobes that got banned outright, the rest of the thread was people defending preference while the transfolks divided out into two frames of thought. The level headed onces concluded that identifying as a women means you want to be whole as a women, and people not seeing you as such means it's hard to find normality and hard to find a straight male partner that would provide that to you, but that men who made a distinction weren't inherently transphobic. Evilore sided with that side and the non-transphobic cis people. Thus Mumei got demodded. I only recall Evilore making a couple of posts way towards the end of the thread which was mostly just a conversation with Mumei. If she handn't doubled down nothing would have come of it.

Of course all further discussion on the matter was a bannable offense, so Evilore none the less put his trademark on it.

Gaf was a forum of followers.    Metaphorical lemmings who just did whatever made them feel like they could fit in.

It's not surprising at all when you remember the makeup of gaf.

These are same fucks who worshipped Bishoptl.

It didn't though, they spent nearly a week organizing it as an EXCLUSIVE CLUB and thousands of GAFfers said "yeah alright, I'll wait to post there" because they're addicted to the "community" they constantly want to cast people/groups out of.
