I'd say give it 10 years, but the problem is REEEE is currently being pushed by the GAF drama. Without that, this idea would've been dead in the water. Additionally, the GAF drama is propelling it with attention, which brings members. GAF probably wasn't this popular a week into it's creation.

Normally, you'd say that wasn't a problem. REEEE is just a place where the old community would get to stay alive, instead of having the hilarious "damage control" that GAF is currently going through. But, the admins and mods seemed to take this as an opportunity to move up the power ladder. Now that they have the "big boy shoes" so to speak, I wonder if they will still adhere to the standards they set the GAF admins/mods when they were mere members. Hmm.

In any case, this is a good example for what happens when you give a layman the power.

I am curious exactly how the mods at Reset will uhhh, I'm not going to say stop necessarily, but let's say...dial down, the outrage culture element of gaf. This is important because the outrage culture fed into the culture shift where there was only one opinion worth any salt in any discussion. I'm not going to say no outrage should happen but with gaf it felt like it was constant outrage at the end of its life and I wonder how Reset staff will deal with that "constant" part which makes the forum come off really negatively and makes a large part of the userbase apprehensive and sometimes downright hostile to opposing viewpoints.

I certainly hope they recognize this could be a problem and have come up with ways to go around it.
