I didn't defending his ass. I am pointing out that Tyler fucked up because he's socially distinguished mentally-challenged. Not because he thought "I'mma gonna assualt this girl now".
Those aren't mutually exclusive. It doesn't matter if it was born from a place of social ineptitude, it's still assault. These people aren't like depicted in movies.
I think it matters that its from social ineptitude and we should make that matter before we start criminalizing autism. That's the road this goes down.
It can be very wrong, but we should be careful about how wide we define sexual assault.
