Dogs are different than cattle not only in emotional intelligence, but also empathy and loyalty and breeding such intelligent creatures just to eat them is cruel. You can train a dog to dial 911 when someone's in danger. Good luck doing that with a chicken. So we just eat dumb animals? Maybe, but thats how it always has been. People historically resorted to eating cats and dogs when there was a famine or siege, not as a delicacy.
